I cannot believe just how exhausted I am all the time...
When I had Ava, we lived in an apartment and my husband had a much more regular schedule. Now that I have two kids, we also have a house and my husband works overnights on top of the fact that I work full time, too. Come 5pm, my body is about to give out on me. I am so beyond exhausted every, single day that I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to last. Hubby and I try to let each other sleep in one day on the weekends that he's home, but I don't need one day of sleep, I need like a month of sleep. I seriously feel like I'm about to collapse. I would go to bed at 8 every night if I could, but I have to make lunches, get clothes ready for the next day and then Chase needs his last bottle at 10. I tried to not give it to him last night and just let him sleep, but he was up at 1am screaming his head off Ugg. Anyway, if anyone else feels like joining me in an exhausted whine, please feel free!

Re: I cannot believe just how exhausted I am all the time...
I know how you feel - at that age DD was still waking once, sometimes twice a night for a bottle. And I had to be up at 5:45am every morning! DH works during the day but he does OT so he doesn't get home till late... and at night he is useless b/c he always falls asleep on the couch. Plus, most of the time he works weekends so I am on my own.
Once Chase STTN without that late bottle it will get so much easier.

I'll join the exhausted whine! DH and I both work FT at stressful jobs with loooonng hours. I barely have enough time with DS and I am exhausted from being PG too. I feel like I need a long weekend on a tropical island to just decompress and sleep!!

Re: I cannot believe just how exhausted I am all the time...
I feel your pain. DD#2 will only be 3 weeks on Thursday, so she's eating every 3 hours or so. DD#1 is only 1, so I have to be ON TOP OF HER every waking minute, plus, she's given up her afternoon nap, will only sleep for an hour during the morning, and she's started waking up during the middle of the night.
My DH works nights, too, so when he gets home, he sleeps. Plus, he works extra shifts when they come around, and while we appreciate the extra $, it's rough being "on" 24/7 for me.
I wish I had a solution for you; are your parents close by? Can your mom come over one night, just so you can sleep through, and maybe help you catch up? Maybe if you couple that with the day your DH lets you sleep in it will help a little bit. Hang in there; I know how hard it is, it should get better soon...

Re: I cannot believe just how exhausted I am all the time...
to all the other exhausted mommies. I just needed to vent, I think. I know that if I need help, I can ask my parents. They live less than 2 miles away and often help me when I need it, but I just think until Chase is a little older, it's just going to be super tiring. It had been four years since I had Ava, so I was totally out of the loop as to how much an infant really needs you. Ava's so independent, so I was able to actually sit down for a little while everyday if I needed to. I know it'll get better, but for now, I'm just so darn My mom offered for all three of us to sleep over her house on Friday night since DH is working and I think i'll take her up on it because she'll get up in the morning with the kids so i can sleep

I completely understand and feel the same way. I'm utterly exhausted all the time...no wonder I can't find time to work out. My older one still doesn't sleep through the night consistently...she wakes at least 3x a week. We don't have any help either so there is never a break. I feel your pain.

Re: I cannot believe just how exhausted I am all the time...
I'm not exhausted anymore-at least on an every day basis. My body seems to have adjusted to the lack of regular sleep.
I do have days where I'm done/spent by 8 am. On those days, all the bottles/lunches/chores get shoved aside and I go to sleep early. Sure, I rush around in the morning once in a while, but at least I got a little more sleep.
When Chase is sleeping earlier-give it a shot. Might work out. Until then and
