Colin wears size 4 pampers (has been for a while now) and still gets poop up the back. I use Target brand for Ryan and may put Colin in them.
Do you use Oxyclean for the clothes? that saves a lot of clothes for me!
I was, but last week I saw a rim of poop around my washing machine after I ran a load of the poopy clothes, so now they just go right in the garbage.

I do not like Huggies. Another Luvs convert here.  They are the best diapers for my son!
Me too!! He is now in a size 6 and I will buy whatever is on sale, but the Luvs are by far the best (and cheapest!). I HATE the Cruisers, they have never worked for him- old or new style!! So weird how they fit so differently.

Have you tried the Kirkland (Costco) ones? I swear by them!!! I can send you a few 3's (or 6's since I have a bunch left over from DS1  ) if you want to try them

I always like Huggies - never liked Pampers - I recently got the Pampers pull ups because they were on sale and Cailen leaked through every single one! Rarely does that with the Huggies!

I liked Pampers...but switched to Luvs for the price and they've been working great!
I don't always know if it's the diaper that causes the blowout...sometimes the kid just makes one of those explosive poops. Riley went through a stage when she'd make a mess all the time, and now it's pretty rare. I guess it depends on what they eat.

We LOVE Up & Up(Target diapers) they work great for us. I hated Huggies with both girls.

What about the Swaddlers or the Comfort Flex? Did you try those? I hated huggies.
I am not a fan of Dry Max either though.

loved Huggies . I started out with Pampers and hated them AND they always irritated DD's skin.
Oh and I also really liked Luvs as DD got older (not at night though)

I'm not sure if it will help. We are having issues here too. Maddie was in pampers then she would poop out of them all I went up a size they were way to big - so we switched to huggies which have elastic band in the back and that helped. Then she went out of those but the next size up was HUGE on her and she was pooping out the legs every time so we went back to pampers. I honestly haven't had issues with the new ones except that now she is pooping out the back of them again. I tried the old huggies that were the next size up and she is still going out the legs b.c they are too big in the thighs. So we went back to pampers but up a size - they are big but seems to be better.
I honestly don't know what the better choice is. If you find one let me know.

I have a girl, but after she grew out of the Swaddlers I tried all the diapers and liked the Huggies Supreme (now Little Movers) the best.

I HATED Huggies when she was in preemies and newborns and now that we're in the 1, 1-2, 2 stage I LOVE them! I'll never go back to Pampers or Luv's....WAY to many explosions when really there should not have been!

We just switched from Pampers (which I did love) to Up and Up at Target. Pampers Dry Max does nothing for us, and I didn't like the fit of Huggies when I tried them.

i am a huuuuuuuuuuuuge BJ's brand fan.
for both DD's i used pampers for N and size 1
for DD#1 i used huggies 1/2 size a bit when we had explosions, then we switched to BJ's and never looked back. well, huggies overnights of course  .
with DD #2, they just started coming out with size 1 BJ's brand when it was too late, but i would have totally tried those had they come out sooner...
my view is/was the explosive stage is temporary, might as well find the cheapest brand to poop in

I've been using Huggies for Amelia and ever since we started solids she started having explosive diapers too. I was actually planning to switch to Pampers

When DD was still a newborn, I tried switching. Like other posters, I hated Huggies and wound up throwing the box away. I understand your frustration though--I've thrown away quite a few outfits and have literally had to cut clothes off of DD.
