I had a moby wrap for sale on craigs list. Someone messages me asking about it. During our back and forth I find out she has a 10 month old baby and they are living in a 1 star flea bag motel because they lost everything they own during hurricane sandy. She asks me how low I am willing to go on the moby wrap.

I tell her she can have it for free if she wants to pay postage because it turns out she is in NJ. So while we are talking about her situation I find out that all the babies stuff was destroyed. Even her brand new crib in the box. I asked her if DD needed clothes. She said yes, everything people donated was fall/winter. So I pull out about 35 pairs of shorts, skirts, shirts, dresses and a few toys. Most of the clothes were brand new or worn once. One dress in particular was something I really liked and considered saving to use the fabric for a keepsake. But I decide it would be worth more to them than to me. Pack all of it up in a flat rate box. It was almost $17. PO said it would get there Monday. In the mean time she asks me how much is postage and I tell her, just use the money to take DD somewhere to play and have an ice coffee.

Monday comes and goes and no delivery! I track the package and it says it was REFUSED!?!? So I call the motel and some guy answers. He tells me he would never refuse a package and will ask his employee when they come in.

I am steaming mad. The box is not here, it's not there. She got nothing and I spent $16 to do something nice for someone instead of making some money back on my $47. moby wrap and over $100 in clothes! Now if it DOES show up what do I do? Spend ANOTHER $16 to reship it? I feel so bad for this family and so pissed off at the motel!
