Has anyone seen this movie yet??? Dh and I did today, I liked it dh didn't. If you did see it, What did you think of it????

I felt bad for the dog sam, and i was confused when the lady and her son just showed up like that when he was in his car and all those zombies were after him, I thought for a second he was a goner.... but i was very disappointed about the ending.

what happened to the dog-I am a lover of animals and thats the one thing that bugs me in movies-that and babies getting hurt

The dog got Bit by the other zombie dog and when will smith character went back to his place to help 'Sam' to try to save her , he gave the dog a shot than all of a sudden 'sam' turned on him and went to bit will smith's character and he had to kill the dog.

I thought it was good but if i had known about the fate of sam, i would not have seen it. also i could not relax through the whole movie, it had me on the edge of my seat.

DH and I both liked it. He saw it in the theater, I saw it at home on a pirate site. I jumped out of my seat when the lion jumped on the deer in the very beginning.

I read the story first and I as sorely disappointed for the same reason. So I have not spent the money to see the movie. With this, I don't think I will.
PS: In the book the dog doesn't even make it to being his pet before he's infected.
Also since I haven't seen the movie, I heard they changed it from a vampire virus to a mutated cancer cure? is that true? Does Robert Neville have a tattoo? Is he really a doctor? (not in the book) Can he get sick (not in the book)? Thanks FM me if you think it gives too much away

Yes, it was a cancer cure that mutated and spread, infecting something like 99.9% of the population. Neville was a dr. and was one of the immune people. I don't think he did have a tattoo.

I guess I am the odd one out. I really enjoyed it. There were pieces of it that were sad and confusing moment as well but overall, I was entertained and had a good time. I guess my expectations were not as high as other peoples? Maybe, i don't know but I thought it was fun.

I agree. I loved this movie. No other movie has scared me so much though. I cried in the theater a couple of times-when Sam died, when he had to leave his family. I am not a fan of movies that depict the end of the world because it really freaks me out, but I liked this movie. Will Smith is great too. There was a lot that was unexplained and you had to just assume, but I kind of like movies like that sometimes. I didn't think the ending was bad at all or anticlimatic.

We enjoyed it. I never read the book so I had no expectations. I was on the edge of my seat through most of the movie.
I recall being very disappointed in a Harry Potter movie that was so very different from the book. However, to make any movie just like the book would make those movies 3 - 4 hours long if not more.

It sort of was a vampire virus....cancer cure that mutated into a vampire virus. The zombies fed on those who were not infected. Neville was an officer in the army & a scientist who was immune from the airborne virus & the transferable virus (bites/blood). Neville was trying to create a cure from his own blood.

It was more like a rabies infection than a vampire thing, although the climbing ceiling part was freaky...the uv rays burned their skin, they lost hair, their gums bled, pupils were dilated...all signs of rabid animals. They were smart, too. That crept me out. I just don't understand why he didn't carll in the furnace with them at the end.

This movie was 50% good, 50% terrible. Honestly. Its like the writers strike hit them right in the middle of the film and they just gave up. Also, for a HUGE budget movie, the CGI was super cheapo looking. The female dark seeker that he had in his basement lab looked terrible...

Its a film, its not real. Its all part of the cinematic experience, if you bought into the dog dying in the story, they did a good job!!!
