I am a mommy!
Hi girls! I am sorry it has taken me so long to post! I havent had a minute to even think about turning on my computer all week!
Im sure a lot of you saw my post last Tuesday morning about waking up having menstral like cramps. I was in early labor!
ALYSSA NICOLE was born Tuesday, June 13 at 11:36 PM via natural birth. She weighed in at 6lb 7oz, 19 1/2 inches long. I havent had a chance to get pics downloaded onto my compiter yet but will post some soon. She has a full head of dark hair from hubbys side of the family! Big blue eyes like both mommy and daddy!
I have to say - I was terrified of childbirth. But, even though it was extremely painful - it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be.
I wound up going into work the day I delievered! The dr said it would slow down labor to sit around and do nothing so I figured I mine as well stay active and go into work. I wasnt in much pain that AM - just mild contractions..every 10 min or so. I stayed at the office until they were approx 5 min apart and then headed home to meet DH and head to the hospital. By the time I got there - they were 2-3 min apart and quite uncomfortable. Dr thought since they were so close id be progressed....when he did the internal though - only 1 cm dilated! Took 4 hrs or so to finally reach 4 cm when I got the epi. AHH like a new person after that. They did have to run it off when I pushed though because I wasnt pushing properly. Thats one thing I never knew..that they usually do turn down or turn off epi during pushing. No one ever mentioned that to me! I always thought Id be pain free during pushes....no such luck. that hurt. I pushed for about an hour and a half and out she came near midnight. It was a long day!!! I was so happy to get her out before midnight though. I am very close to my grandpa and it was his birthday!!! Now they share a special day.
The 3 of us are doing great. DH and I are just a bit sleep deprived. Our little angel thinks it is sleep time during the day and playtime around 3 am. We are having a hard time. She is up for a minimim of 2-3 hrs a night and cries a lot at that time. Yet, doesnt peep a bit all day long. ahh the trials of parenthood.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for your ansers to my silly questiond and concerns throughout my pregnancy, You are all so sweet!
I probably wont be posting a smuch for atleast a few weeks , until I get into more of routine. Right now I am feeling a little overwhelemed! Fir the rest of you awaiting thr arrival of your little ones - I wish you good luck and easy labor! See you on the parenting board!
