Re: hypochondriacs

Sadly, in my older years (30 and up) I think I've become a bit of a hypochondriac myself

Before my 30s, I NEVER EVER went to a doctor (then again,I was hardly ever sick)

Now I might not actually GO to a doctor but whenever I feel under the weather, etc, I tend to think the worst, that I'm dying or something similar Chat IconChat Icon

DH is a hypochondriac...everyday new illness. Doesn't necessarily go to the Dr for it though...he always claims "somethings not right" or "I don't feel good"

Its become a joke now though and I just laugh at him...

I was never a hypochondriac...BUT....me and DH do not have copays anymore SO we are definitley more likely to skip to the drs office when we have sore throats. It used to be yrs without seeing a dr now its months.

I don't care if a person is a hypochondriac, as long as I don't have to listen to him whine about it ever second of the day. Chat Icon

Re: hypochondriacs

i go the the dentist all the time- but that has more to do with on-going work. i go to the gyn for the yearly visits (though, i just started doing this again after having not gone for a few years), and with the Dr- i actually just went the other day during my lunch break b/c i Knew i had had strep for like a week, and it just wasn't going away. BUT before that, its probably been at least 5 years since i've been to the Dr (not including my new employee physical that i had to do last year).

its funny when i hear people talking about different updates from ther doctors and stuff- b/c i'm just not One to GO to the doctor i guess Chat Icon

No before I got pregnant I rarely went to a doctor. Now I am going every month and it feels so unusual to me.

my mom used to do this to me and my bro and sis - if one of us had bronchitis, the other one did too...so she would tell us to take the same medicine. drove me nuts. she used to work in a hospital - in accounting

Re: hypochondriacs

No, infact I tend to NOT go to the doctor ever. This is why I am having such conflict now that I am preggo. It drives me nuts because I feel like I should be able to trust myself to know what's best, but when it comes down to it, now that I am having a baby, i probably don't know what's best. But I hate calling the doctor and being annoying.
