Re: Hugs please...
So sorry you're going through a tough time with the diet.
I was actually put on the diet in order to TTC. I was overwhelmed at first, but it became easier. I wish you the best of luck!!!!

Re: Hugs please...
I can understand your pain - I have been a type 1 diabetic for 23 years and I am now 7 weeks pregnant. I know this doesn't help you now, but just keep thinking how in 2 months, it will be over for you, but if you were a type 1 diabetic, you would be dealing with this forever! You should be avoiding foods with high glycemic indexes. You can go online or there are lots of books that have those foods listed. Foods with high glycemic indexes are foods that will make your blood sugars spike quickly. If you really have a strong desire to eat carbs, look for whole wheat pastas or whole grain foods, eat beans (like garbanzo (chic peas), kidney beans) because they will tend to make your blood sugars go up slower. While I am sure you have a great nutritionist, be careful about what they tell you. As someone who has dealt with nutritionists for 23 years, sometimes their information is not correct. Unfortunately, diabetes is not a uniform disease - meaning, different foods affect people different. One of my best friends also happens to be diabetic (very random - we met in law school) and different foods affect us totally differently. You will be the only one that will know what is best for you. If you have any questions, you can FM me. Also, hormones will have a bad effect on your blood sugars and that is something that you will not be able to control with food. The good thing is that blood sugars are most important in the first trimester. It sounds like you are in your third trimester, which at this point, your blood sugars will not affect the baby as drastically. Good luck!
