How would you react?

So my friend just updated her computer and LOST all of her digital pics. Her response? Well, at least she didn't lose something she paid for, like iTunes. Me? I would be CRUSHED beyond belief! To me, these are memories, and can't be replaced. I'd be soooo much happier if I lost something that I could just buy again.

I would be devestated! I love having pictures to look back at. That's why we back everything up to an external hard drive!

Devastated!!! I try to move as many "important" pics as possible to shutterfly.

I would totally be upset. I do have a most of my pictures printed and in albums but not all of them.

we have a backup harddrives that automatically backs up everything every 2 weeks just in case.

I was be crushed. I keep thinking about this and I think I'm going to upload all my files to Carbonite.

OMG I agree with you, while I would be upset if I lost the music I bought, I would be devastated if I lost my photos!! I have a backup hard drive now, but before then I was burning CDs. I would be crushed if I lost them!

I burn my pics onto a dvd. I would be DEVISTATED if I lost those...all the pics of my dd from birth - now

I would be crushed also. I back up my computer to an external drive every day and probably 95% of my pictures are uploaded to shutterfly.

I can't even imagine!

That's why we have an external harddrive that mirrors itself to another harddrive.


Software can be replaced, especially if you have a serial number/key number from your purchase.

I would cry for days.

I triple back-everything up.

All the pics of DS are backed-up on CD in a fire-proof box, and uploaded to Kodak, and backed-up on xdrive.

We had a house fire about 5 years ago and I've been paranoid ever since.

A physical external hard drive won't do bupkis for you if things burn.

I'd be floored if I lost all of my pictures! So can't make those memories up.

I'd be devestated. I have an external hard drive I use for backup, and I'm getting another one that I'm going to leave at my mom's house so that if our house was destroyed maybe I'll have saved the pics of the kids.

I would be very very upset. That is why I back up my files to an external harddrive.

omg i would be soooo upset if i lost all the images.

to hell with itunes---if anything you could always tell itunes that you lost your entire hard drive---and i bet they could let you download the songs again since they keep a record of it!

I would be so upset, thats why I always make sure I put all my pictures on a back up like a cd

I would be in tears. I have soooo many pics from the moment DS was born up until 2 days ago and of course a whole bunch of other family and friend pics.

I would be sooooooooo upset!!!! That's why I upload all of our pics to Snapfish after I take them off the camera. If they're ever wiped off of our computer I know I've got them saved online.

I'd be upset, but I know DH backs everything up on DVD once every few months cause he's good like that!

People really store their digital pictures on their PC?

I upload all pictures to an online album....to save space on my PC and to avoid such issues.

Good for her for not losing her cool....

id be devestated if i lost my pics
for that reason alone i have them backed up on dvds... uploaded to shutterfly and a backup on my hubbys comp...
i will be making copies of dvds putting 1 copy in the fire box and 1 copy will stay at my rents in another state
