How to keep 9 month old from rolling over when trying to change him...
I'm hoping someone can give me some tips on how to keep my DS from rolling and crawling away while I try to change him. It has become so frustrating and today I was about to cry because I could not get him to stay still while attempting to change his diaper. He just wants to move! He just started crawling, so I know he is excited, but there has to be some way to keep him still while changing him. I have tried the different toys, tried putting up "blockades" next to him, but he manages to still roll over!! I'm more uptight about it because it has gotten worse this weekend and I can't deal with the stress come tomorrow morning when I have to get to work and he is not cooperating!!
Pleeeeease any advice you can give!!

I have the same issue. Pathetic - but I make sure he has a bottle in his hands so I can quickly change him otherwise it is not pretty!!

We have the same issue, I try to sing to her or tickle her to get her attention so i can get her diaper changed. A lot of times I finish dressing her as I am holding her

Anthony is always trying to sit up or turn or something. He usually gravs something from the PNP, so I let him play with something while I try to change him and just hold him down. Letting him hold domething has also helped with him trying to touch and grab his butt during the changings

I give DD stuff to play with to keep her hands busy and change as fast as I can. I haven't found a way to keep her still to be changed and at almost 13 months it is just getting worse.

I have the same issue with my 9 month old ~ I usually try to give him a toy or something to distract him. (& try to change fast) sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt and it is frustrating sometimes...

Thanks ladies! I have my work cut out for me.
2kids2cats, I am going to try the bottle tomorrow. He has a fascination with playing with it when he has no intention of drinking, so maybe if I pass it to him, that will keep him calm!!

Cailen would only stay still if I gave him the tube of desitin to hold, or something "forbidden" - not a toy, but a wipe, or the wipe container, or somehting he never got to hold normally....

This is true most of the time with DD as well. I now keep a few toys by the changing table and she only gets them there.

Re: How to keep 9 month old from rolling over when trying to change him...
We tried to distract him with a toy while we changed him. Somedays, Id hold him down gently with one of my legs bc it was such a battle. Now that hes older and strong for a little guys, its harder but at least I can reason with him now.
