We did it at 21 months and only because I saw he was trying to climb out of the crib. He did great - never tried to get out of bed. (I think napping on cots at daycare helped because they weren't allowed up.) We put a gate on his door just in case he tried to get up in the MOTN. It's almost never an issue. Getting rid of the binky was tough though. In hindsight, we should've done that first while we had him contained in his crib. It was only during that week or two that he would come to the door and SCREAM for his binky.

DD converted to a toddler bed at 18 mos (she climbed out of her crib) and moved into a full bed a little over 2 years.

DS....I PLAN on converting him to toddler after Christmas (he'll be 18 months) and then he will go into a twin around 21-22 months when DC3 is born.

2 months after her 4th birthday. She loved her crib I just figured she was going to break it soon

My DD was 2.5 years old, we were moving so we figured it would be the best time to just switch off.

We converted the crib to a big boy bed when DS was 2 years 3 months. We should have done it sooner. He hated the crib and wouldn't sleep in it. We really didn't have any problems transitioning him to the bed. He loved it.

DS turned 2 in October. We just converted his crib to a toddler bed two weeks ago. For three days in a row he was climbing out of the crib and banging on the door int he morning to let him out. I figured a toddler bed was safer than him climbing out of the crib every morning.

Around 20 or 21 months...

We moved and I wasn't setting her crib up again... I have her in a queen bed and she did amazing! But my child adepts very easily to anything... Usually ahhaha lol

DS was 2y8m. I moved him from his crib to a twin bed. It was time, He was seriously getting too tall for the crib. Every night he was all squished against he bars.
Transition was super easy!

DD was 27months and we needed the crib for DS. Ped said to give her a while to transition, but she loved it from day one! She was in her bed for 6 months before DS was born.
