How Often To You Get Your Grass Cut?
Our guy comes once a week, on Tuesday. By the time the weekend rolls around, it's all overgrown with dandelions all over it. I keep telling him to cut it shorter, he said that would burn it out. I don't really care, since my grass is horrible anyway. I just don't like taking the kids out in the jungle on a weekend to play! How often does your guy come and is it really overgrown before the next week?

you probably pay less than the people who get it cut on or near the weekends. ask him to do it on another day, it may be worth it to you... maybe thursday?

Maybe, I pay $33 a week. I didn't realize different days have different prices. I'm so tempted to just do it myself since there is a mower in the garage!

We cut it every Thursday, so for the weekend's it's nice. If it's really long, we'll cut it Thursday and Monday.

Once a week and he comes on a Thursday. I would ask him to cut it on a different day.
For the record, I've never heard of anyone paying more to have their lawn cut on a day closer to the weekend, and we have friends in the business.

but you dont want him to cut it shorter, it will burn, and then you wont want the kids playing on it.
just switch the days to a thursday or friday

We cut it on Saturday mornings & if it happens to get overgrown, we will cut it again on Wednesday.
You don't want your grass too short in the summer months bc it will burn...

Unless you have a huge yard, 33 a week is way too much and you should not have weeds, if you have a landscaper.

I don't have a landscaper, I have someone who strictly cuts the grass. I thought that seemed high too, I think I'm going to just cancel him and do it myself.

It's how they have their customers routed out. Our landscaper comes every Wednesday to mow. My mom uses the same guy and they do her lawn on Fridays. I see the same landscapers in the area near DD's nursery school on Thursdays. This week everything was moved back one day since the guys are off on Friday.
It has nothing to do with how much you pay. I pay more than my mom since we have a larger lawn. And last week we had them do a very big project and paid them a lot of money and I still got mowed on the same schedule as usual.
ETA: Our backyard has lots of clover & weeds b/c I don't allow any treatments back there since I don't want the kids playing in all those chemicals. It's all green so it doesn't bother me.

Mine use to come on Fridays.
We just "terminated" him.
I will do it myself again. It gets expensive and now I don't work during the week so it's back to "my job".

ours comes once a week. usually thur-sat. it's not always the same day. it does get long pretty quickly though, especially when it rains a lot. sometimes when i send DS out it seems like the grass is up to his knees!

My landscapers have been coming on Tuesdays, but I may have to change this.
They don't cut the grass short enough and while I understand why they don't cut it that short, the grass usually ends up looking bad by the time the weekend comes.

Exactly. My dh owns a landscaping company and it is all based on the route and not how much you pay.
