How often do you and DH/DW/SO go away ALONE together?

DH and I haven't gone away on a real vacation since our HM almost 2 yrs ago.

I read all the threads about ppl going away on a couples vacation and I can't help but get so jealous we have family scattered throughout the country (mostly DH's) and we spend all our vacations seeing them.

we go on vacation a lot. This is one of our priorities. we sacrifice other things in order to do it. We've been away three times since our honeymoon in June of 2006. We've been to Puerto Rico, Grand Cayman and Captiva, Florida since. We are planning a trip to San Francisco in the near future. For us this is an important part of our lives and always has been since we have been dating in 2001. I am hoping to continue this even after we have kids.

We went for a long weekend to Mystic once. That's it. Otherwise it's been to visit family.

Honestly, a couple of times a year. We are luckly in that all our immediate family is on Long Island so we don't have to spend vacation time seeing them. That's one of the reasons I won't move off LI.

I know we both went to Couples for our HM--we've gone back once since then, and will be returning for our anniversary this year. We try for one week just us per year...We spent other small vacations going to FL to visit family, etc., but I really want to have these "us" vacations before we have kids and aren't able to anymore.

In between our big yearly vacations (which are usually late fall for our anniversary), we do weekend trips upstate, to Newport, to D.C., A.C., etc.

We go away together a lot, last year it was like 3 or 4 times and 2 of them were with other couple's we are friends with. I would day an avg of anywhere from 3-5 times a year and like 2 of those trips will be just us and no one else.

We get away twice a year....but i know that will change sometime.

Luckily I have a husband who loves to travel and loves to plan. So i know that we will get away at lesat once a year.

The last time we went away alone was 2 years ago. We went to R.I. and that was to visit my friend from H.S. It was also their bachelor/bachelorette party. It was one big combo. party.

The only other place we have been to is FL and that's to my parents house when they are down there. It's a family trip.
We have DS now, but, we are planning on taking trips to FL and other places as well.

A lot!! In July we went on a cruise to the Caribbean for our anniversary. August we went to Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio. February we are renting a house in Vermont to ski. Then next July we are going on a European cruise. With that said, we are travel junkies, we can't help it. What you have to remember is that we don't own a home, and we have no children. So when we do finally have bought those things, I'm sure we will be down to one vacation a year. DH and I need to travel, or we will go crazy! I would sacrifice alot to go on a vacation.

Oh, and all of our family lives within a 20 minute drive from us.

last time we went away was on our HM last year...its tough we have three dogs and can't just leave them.
I believe we are going to plan a trip for our 2 year anniversary and we will either bring them to my parents house in NY or have my parents come here for a week to watch them.

We travel as much as we can. As for recent trips, we went on our honeymoon in June 2006, then to Hawaii in December 2007. We are going on a Mediterranean cruise in November.

We do not have kids, but hope that when we do have kids, we can continue to travel with them (as they get older).

We love to travel - this year many of our trips included family which was very nice but we always try to get at least one trip away by ourselves even if just a long weekend. We think it is important.

we try once a year but sometimes we have to stretch it due to scheduling. We see our OOT family once a year and they come out about once a year in the past.

We are planning another trip soon. We need it!

We haven't been away since October 2006 which was our honeymoon. We did; however, go to Disney with another couple for 4 days in March 2006. DH and I are trying to plan another trip in April 2008 back to Disney. We have been there 5 times, but we are always guaranteed a lot of fun and things to do. Plus, its cheap.

Before kids we went away every 3-6 months, now we never go away alone. Someday though.

We do 1 big one a year - sometimes we get lucky and sneak in a second one.

We try to go on one alone trip once a year. So far, so good. Who knows what the future will hold, tho.

About twice a year...One large vacation in the summer and then something smaller during one of our breaks (we are both teachers)
