How much should a 5 week old eat?
IS my 5 week old eating too much or too little?
Right now he has 6-7 feedings. He has a bottle every 2.5-4 hours and he drinks 2oz-5ozs, most of the time taking 4ozs.

sounds perfect to me.. You really can't overfeed a newborn. they will eat when they are hungry and they will stop when they are fully. They are running on Basic needs at this point. just fee on demand!! your doing a great job!!

exactly.
Its really hard to "overfeed" a newborn.

Thanks girls. It's true..he does stop when he's done and had enough.
I just wanted to make sure we were on track with him.

DD will be 5 weeks on Thursday. She takes 3-4 oz every 3-4 hours.

As much as they want, I would only be concerned if they weren't eating at least 18 ounces and/or picking up ounces if there were below that.
