How much does day care cost you?

As some of you know I am toying around with starting an in home daycare eventually ... I will be doing it legally through NYS.

If you don't mind me asking what is the going rate for childcare?

If possible, please tell me if the daycare is at someones home or at a separate establishment - also, please include how old your child is.

I pay about 40 dollars a day but she is unlicensed. I would pay more for her because she is absolutely wonderful!

DS goes to an in home, licensed provider through NYS. He is there 1 day part time (4 hours or less) and 4 days full time (8am-4pm) and we pay $756 per month.

Working on a 9 hour schedule she charges $42 per day for 0-18 mo, $40 per day 18mo-2yrs, and $40 per day 3yrs-5yrs. For part day it is $21 per day for 0-18 mo, and $20 per day for any children over 18mo. Rates are different for "extended day" which is considered anything over 11 hours per day.

NYS liscensed $48 per day for a 10 hour day if needed. Day care center

For up to 18 months, our daycare center (not in home care) is $320 a week for M-F, 8am - 6 pm. They don't offer part time hours for this age group.

ETA: this includes breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks once they are able to eat table food. Before that, you provide your own bottles and baby food. We also provide diapers, wipes and diaper cream.

DD is in a center. We provide the food, diapers etc. She is there M-F 6:30am-5pm depending on Dh's schedule and we pay $1080 a month.

ETA: She is almost 15 months but we've paid the same amount since she was an infant.

Not sure i fthis will help you since it's not in NYS (in Northern Virginia) but it will be a seperate establishment, M-F $315 a week full time from 7 am - 6:30 pm includes all food (breakfast and lunch plus 2 snacks) and milk. DS will be in the Toddler Room (12-24 month olds). GOOD LUCK!!!

Starting in Sept $520/week for 2 DC (2 yr and 4 months) in a home-center daycare (7am-4pm) for teacher's childrens.

Not sure how we are going to afford it but we love the center!!!!!

I live in charlotte but pay 125 /week for in home care

she provides breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks and I bring 1 gallon of milk per week

I'm in the Philly 'burbs - when Alex was an infant, her school charged about $1250 per month for M-F, 7:30am to 6pm, closing at 3pm on Fridays. No food included, but oodles of classes like Yoga, Gymnastics, Music, Sign Language, and during the summer, swim lessons.

Now that she's 3.5, the tuition cost has gone down to about $950 per month.

I have a baby sitter (unlicensed) but she's awesome. DD is the only one she watches and we pay her $50 a day. We drop DD off between 8:45-9 and she gets picked up at 6 pm.

I feel really blessed to find someone so awesome and so reasonable.

I live in NYC and the licensed day care centers we were looking at were $450 a week and up

Daycare for 14 month old DS is 300/week. They provide meals. I provide diapers and milk (b/c i want him to drink organic). When he was not eating table food, I had to provide breast milk/formula/baby food. He is there from about 8 - 5.

ETA: Licensed faciltiy; MAT certified.

My DD goes to a licensed in-home day care. They charge $900/month for children under 2, $600/month for 2 year olds and possibly a lower price for 3 year olds...not sure.

$840 A MONTH for 3 days a week. It opens at 6:30 though..which is what we need.
