How many strollers should I register for?

After reading the post about the Baby jogger stroller, I started to wonder how many strollers I will need.
I was thinking of registering for three strollers:
1. Full size stroller that has a car seat adapter.
2.Maclaren for when the child gets older.
3. Snap and go

Do you think this is too many?
Also, do you think you can use the Baby Jogger Stroller mini as a main stroller, and use the car seat adapter when they are little?

I just registered for my Chicco Travel System. As the baby gets older if I need something different or in addition to I will get it myself. Chat Icon

Re: How many strollers should I register for?

I also registered for the Cnico travel system which comes with full size stoller and infant seat, so I registed for the snap and go as well. I do want to add an umbrella stroller, so I guess 3 in all if you count the snap and go.

Re: How many strollers should I register for?

To me, that's too many strollers... (I come from the perspective of an apartment dweller, so I tend to prefer multi-functional items, rather than buying several of a thing with slightly different features).

If you want a snap and go, you likely won't need a full-sized stroller with a carseat adapter (although most better strollers already come with a carseat adapter standard).

If you get a full-sized stroller, there likely will be no need to get a maclaren, since a carefully chosen stroller will be able to grow with your child... (unless you're talking about a super-light weight umbrella stroller.. in which case I bet something inexpensive will suffice. None the less, I personally would put-off purchasing anything for that far down the road, since I wouldn't know what my needs would be that far in the future).

We got one 'everything' stroller (bumbleride indie). It's an all-terrain stroller that is very maneuverable over grass and gravel, as well as being narrow enought to go through department stores, and it's not too huge, so it can still be packed into our car without much difficulty. It, of course, comes with a carseat adapter and a footmuff. An infant can go in it with or without a carseat.

It took us a long time to figure out what we really needed in a stroller... the baby bargains book was soooo valuable in helping us make that decision. they explained the different stroller types, the pluses and minuses of all features (ex. all terrain = goes anywhere but is bulkier and more difficult to pack-up than a lighter stroller meant for suburbanite living like a graco).

so my advice would be to do a lot of research and then you'll know exactly what you need and what isn't really necessary for your lifestyle....

Three is too many (unless you live in a mansion and have the room to store it). I'm getting the Graco Quattro Stroller (and car seat) in Espresso.

Why would you need to buy three? Chat Icon

Re: How many strollers should I register for?

I have 2 strollers total. Talking to my sister and other BTDT moms, 2 should be enough. I registered for the Snug Rider frame (same as Snap and Go but for Graco carseats) and the Peg Perego Pliko P3. I figured I'll use the snap and go most in the beginning. Then I'll switch to the P3 once he outgrows his infant car seat. I am thinking the P3 will carry me for a few years.

This is exactly what I would suggest. I am going on baby #2.

I would get a separate Jogger from the full size, unless the Jogger fully reclines and has great storage.

Re: How many strollers should I register for?

Honestly, if you get the Baby Jogger, all you need is the snap and go along with it. I bought a travel stroller (used for about $19) just so my Baby Jogger wouldn't get all beat up on the plane.

The Baby Jogger has an adapter for an infant seat.

I am a little confused. I registered for the baby jogger city mini as well and if you get the adopter for the car seat why would you still need the snap and go?

Re: How many strollers should I register for?

I registered for 3 strollers too. I registered for the Snap 'n Go to use at the beginning. I also registered for the Peg Perego Pliko P3 and the Maclaren Quest Sport. I probably don't need both strollers, but I thought they could serve different purposes. The Pliko seems better for walks around the neighborhood and the Maclaren seems good for traveling and quick short trips to the mall, etc. The Maclaren is a bit lighter and IMO will be better to use when Chat Icon is a toddler. It's easier for an older child to get in and out of the Maclaren.

I still have to get a snap and go because the double city mini doesn't have the infant seat adapter. Chat Icon

Re: How many strollers should I register for?

i decided against the whole travel system bc a lot of people i know complained it was too heavy and bulky.

We got the Graco Snap N Go and a Graco car seat for up to 1 yr. After a year we got a Graco lightweight stroller

Same here. I figured I will wait until the child is older, to figure out if I want a very lightweight stroller. And I do hear, you can buy some really inexpensive ones so I will deal with that when the time comes.

Re: How many strollers should I register for?

Thanks for the help!! I think I will just register for the Baby Jogger mini (Or something comparable). I will hold off on the light weight umbrella type stroller for awhile. I still might register for a snap and go. Just in case I can't bring my stroller somewhere, and I need something very small.

I did the travel system and a lightweight. Soooo glad I did. I loved my travel system but as he got bigger, that stroller got sooo heavy.

I would put them on there. If someone buys it, they buy it. What the heckChat Icon

I have the Maclaren Triumph it is by far the best stroller I have had in 2 yrs!!!! It is lightweight, folds up fast, has a nice size basket, reclines great, and handles off road wellChat Icon

the full size stroller should convert to a "big kid" stroller by not using the infant seat. i have the graco metrolite with infant seat and a snap and go. i use both of them all the time depending where i am. that's all i need because when he's older i just won't use the infant seat
