How many stars are on the flag?
Is it 50 or 51.
I've looked online and it says 50 stars are on the flag. Isn't Hawaii the 51st State. So shouldn't 51 stars be on the flag.

I might be wrong, but I always thought there are 50 stars on the flag and Hawaii is the 50th state, not the 51st.

It's so weird you bring this up today. A coworker of DH's said almost the SAME thing yesterday. That she thought Hawaii was the 51st state.

Puerto Rico has been suggested as the 51st state, but it is still a territory. There are only 50 states, 50 stars. 13 stripes for the original 13 colonies.

too funny...i can do it in my sleep! and it's the funniest thing to hear 7 year olds belting out the states when they're parents can't do it. alabama, alaska, arizona, arkansas, california, colorado, connecticut, doo doo doo...
