How many here have a SO who post on this website as well as yourself?
Give your main reasons why you post on this website? Is it because you have friends here?
Your trying to learn something from others post? Love to gossip? Or trying to be the first to post 1million post?

My reason because I'm bored, and trying to understand what my SO likes.

I like it, because it's a place fillled with entertainment, advice, great people, it's truly a great community.

I have met wonderful people that I will always cherish.

I've learned so much from this community. I've gotten support and advice, and given it as well. I feel like I make a difference by being here.

My DH doesn't post on here.

Why do I post here? I'm a SAHM and my DH works long hours. So it's nice to be able to come here and have people to talk to. The parenting board can be a great place when you are unsure or nervous about something. There is usually someone who has already gone through it to help you.

I like reading the celeb gossip board. It's just fun.

My DH doesn't mind that I'm on here as long as it doesn't impact our family life.

It is an escape for me and I use it for information and entertainment. However I do not accept everything I see here for gospel.

My SO had a screenname for the site but has very little posts.
The main reason I post on this site is that I planned my wedding in 2002 with some of these women. At the time I was planning a wedding on LI from Florida and the LIW site was invaluable to me. I found myself making friends with people and we now use this site to chat, bounce ideas off each other, support one another, laugh, cry and all that jazz.
In addition to the friends that I have been talking with for 5 years I am making new friends with people as they make the transitition from LIW to LIF.
I adore what the newer people bring to the boards. Fresh ideas and debates and such.
Overall, the site is a fantastic place to laugh, get the latest gossip, news, have a debate (sometimes even learning a thing or two and/or changing my stance or belief), becoming more educated on people, get support, give a support, live, laugh, love, cry and evolve. I adore this site for everything it has to offer.

DW doesn't post, but she'll read over my shoulder once in a while, or if I mention a thread topic, she'll tell me something to write.

I started reading this for the Home section initially. Then I moved to the Parents section, since I have two of my own. This section is just for entertainment...

My significant other lurks on here (Hi John ) but he doesn't post.

The reason I've been posting for the last eight or nine years is because I have alot of downtime at my job and it gives me an outlet outside of my real life friends to ask questions, offer advice and feel connected somehow to other Mom's, etc. I've developed some great off line friendships as well. It provides a real sense of community to my life.

i doubt that DH would ever post on here...

i got "involved" with LIW and LIF while planning my wedding, and now i come on here because it's entertaining and i've "met" some great people on here. i am looking forward to joining the pregnancy and parenting boards eventually, but for now, NFR is great - especially since i am often bored at work.

Dh doesn't post on here. He has his own forums he posts on.

I started out posting on LIW because I was planning my wedding. Came over to here afterwards. I've made real friends, I've learned SO much from this website - about people, parenting, pregnancy, TTC, house hunting, life on LI - you name it. The friendships, the support, and information are what keep me coming back. Oh and the fashion advice and celeb gossip doesn't hurt either.

I was directed to this site from LIW when looking for advice about a private adoption. And decided to stay. I like it here, there is almost always something to talk about. The advice here is almost always on point. Not everything is gospel (as an above poster mentioned) but mostly helpful!

And no DH does not post. He lurks on LIW, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he finds me here!

My daughter got me started posting here. I didn't think I would take to it because I am not a fan of chat sites. However, this is one of the good ones.

The overwhelming majority of the people on here are some of the nicest, kindest, most caring individuals I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. Although, I am sure I am the "old lady" on this site, I have learned a great deal. I enjoy the comradeship and hope that, in some small way, I have made a positive contribution. I don't agree with everyone and not everyone agrees with me, and that's just fine. That's how it is supposed to be. I have never laughed so hard (to the point of tears running down my face) as I have reading some of these posts. You people are a hoot! I've, also, cried, cheered, been surprised and just, simply, enjoyed the experience. You all bring a little sunshine into my day and, I thank you for it.

As for my husband, he wouldn't be caught dead posting on here. Not his thing.

My husband doesn't post here. He doesn't get the chat board thing but understands now that I've made very close friends off of the boards.

The main reason I post on here? I do it for a number of reasons...to vent, to gossip, to help those people that are in a similar place that I've been in, to share my day, etc.

I'm sure that most would agree that being married & having a family is a lot tougher than it looks. Whatever support group a person needs from Home to Dieting to Parenting, this website covers it.
