How many did or will give your infant the flu shot?
My DS just turned one and I am not sure if i want him to have the flu shot?
We went for his well visit last week, and I forgot to ask about it and his Pedi apperantly forgot too bc she did not bring it up?
I'm on the fence!

Natalie got the flu shot last year and she was only about 6 months at the time. She's getting next month too and she'll be 18 months! (jeez I can't believe how big she's getting already!!)

DS Dr. highly reccomended it and I go to her for medical advice....so we gave it to DS.
Interestingly My Dr.s PA will not be giving it to her children.
I was on the fence about all vaccinations, did a lot of research and also teach Special Ed (Autistic children)The end result is that I am
not worried about vaccinations harming my child. I am very thankful we have them to protect our DC!

I made sure to give DD the flu vaccine as soon as I could. I will do anything in my power to protect DD from anything that I possibley can.
I also work as a nurse and come in contact with many different people so I wanted to be extra safe.
Waiting for the stock of the H1N1. vaccine.

DS got the seasonal flu shot last year at 12 months and he just got it a couple of weeks ago at 2 years. No side effects at all for him.

I believe DS is too young this season, but even if he wasnt, he wouldnt be getting any flu vaccines.

DD#2 will get the seasonal when she turns 6 months b.c we have a 2 year old in preschool. I haven't made up my mind about the H1N1 shot yet though.

K~ I gave Daniel the flu shot on Tuesday and he woke up at 4am sick with croup cough and very congested. Coincidence? Possibly. I know a lot of people that get the shot and then end up sick within a few days. I talked to the ped about this and he said its a falasy and people dont get sick FROM the shot. But, now DS is sick 2 days after getting the shot.

My DD is getting the reg flu shot. I personally don't believe in the whole ' the flu shot made me sick' thing. Just because you get sick shortly after you have gotten the shot doesnt mean it was FROM the shot. Most 'bugs' that make kids sick are in their systems days, sometimes weeks, before they actually show symptoms. You always hear people say ' I have the flu', but in all the time I worked in the dr's office, I rarely saw them diagnose someone with 'THE FLU'. It's such a tough topic because everyone has their opinions and usually they are very strong opinions. Follow your gut and do what you think is best.
