How many Bday presents for 4 year old from parents?
Trying to not go too crazy with Bday and Christmas pretty close together, but I don't want her to feel like she didn't get many presents. Her younger sister definitely had more to open, although I probably spent about the same so far.
We usually open our bday gifts privately as soon as she wakes up. So, it's not like other gifts will add to it.

Honestly, they either get 1 present or 0 presents from us...we usually have a family party and they get/have so much.

For bdays the kids usually get so many gifts from family and friends that I just transfer money into their accounts. Each child gets $100 for every birthday from us.

We give them one present and a party. Often times it is something larger and the grandparents chip in too.

We take them to toys r us and they can pick out a toy. Weve been doing this for a couple of years .

How many Bday presents for 4 year old from parents?
For DD's fourth we gave her a book, a puzzle, and 2 or 3 inexpensive toys. I can't imagine not getting her anything even though she has more than enough as it is.

Kids get 1 big present from us and 2 or 3 small gifts on their bday.
We go nuts at Christmas, so we keep the birthday giving smaller.

This exactly! Her parties are her gift! I may grab a random toy from the Xmas stash to wrap up but she's so distracted by all the other gifts and the party that I don't think it dawns on her to think about whether we got her a gift.

We usually spend about $100 on bday gifts. So for ds2 who just turned 3 that was like 8 small gifts. But we don't do parties. We just have immediate family come for cake. If we start doing friend parties in the future I'm sure we'll scale back the presents.

How many Bday presents for 4 year old from parents?
We already decided because we have the twins that when birthdays get here for them, they will each get $$ from us in their savings account, and we will take the day off (not sure how long we will keep that up with school age) and have an experience day- something they like. For things like year 1 when they are too young for many things they will get something special they can keep forever.
I'm sure they will get so much from family and friends and of coarse we will have a party for them at the house

I am the opposite of everyone who posted lol I prefer my kids to get 1 big item and a few small things from us for their bday. Then I ask family and friends to buy clothes or small toys. I'd rather the exciting stuff be from us. Same for Xmas.

Big party where she gets lots of gifts and we get her a zoo pass and go to the zoo. This year for her 4th bday she will get a bike.

Wow, I guess we went "overboard" for our dds 4th bday. We got her about 10 gifts, totalling about $150, nothing more than $20, and many less than $10. She just loves getting excited for her bday and opening presents, and we love trying to make her day special for her. We also had a party for her. She got gifts from her party, of course, but we like to pick out things for her as well that we know she wants or would like. I thought that's was the norm though, too. Didn't know it was more common to give 1 gift, or no gift!

When DD turned 3 DH bought her something and I bought her something. The rest came from family and her party.
