How long does DC stay in crib in the morning?

DD just started playing in her crib in the morning (making noises, rolling over & all around) I watch her on the monitor & she looks content so I've been leaving her in there longer each day. I want her to learn to play independently but how long is too long? One shes out for the day, she screams when I leave the room so it is nice to have some time to myself.

Until I am ready to take her out. Sometimes up to 45 mins (though rare). She's also 20 months. I just use her cues. If she starts getting bored I get her. If she's playing I leave her for a bit. It's a great thing for her to do. She usually ups nd playing and I can shower, dry my hair and do makeup before she's fussing. I love that luxury. Just to let you know. There was a time when she was content then she would wake up s reaming, then just scream, and now she's content again. Haha. It's a vicious cycle.

DS is just over 4mos and has been laughing and amusing himself when he wakes up in the morning for a couple of weeks now. I leave him in there for about 20-30 minutes depending on how much I would like to get done before getting him. I just watch him on the moniter.

anywhere from 30min to an hour depending on the day. I usually hear them around 6:30 when I am getting ready and I go in there at 7 because we all have to leave at 7:20. On weekends they will stay sometimes till 7:30.
I love watching them talk to eachother from their cribsChat Icon

GREAT question! I was actually thinking about asking this because I feel guilty in the mornings seeing him on the monitor while I'm trying to get time on the elliptical in!

DS has been waking up around 6:30am - which is when my alarm goes off and I head down to work out! He WAS waking up aroudn 7:30am, so I feel guilty that I don't go in as soon as I see he's up! BUT he usually entertains himself or falls back asleep - and I usually get about 30-40 minutes on the elliptical in before he really starts fussing for me to get my butt in there. Chat Icon

DON'T feel guilty! it's good for them to have time to themselves in the morning or any time! as long as hes not unhappy, has a very bad diaper or sick etc. you're doing good for the both of you. it's not like you're working out for hours while he's waiting. i always gave my kids time in the morning and got some stuff done. i found that if i went in too early when they got up they were either then in the worst mood or didn't even want to get up anyway! my DD who is now 4.5 and in a bed still hangs out in her room for a while in the morning and doesn;t come down until almost 8am which is pretty good. enjoy the time and know that you are in a way teaching your child to entertain himself too which is not a bad thing.

Same here. She starts whining to get out right away. Sometimes I leave her for a few minutes to finish getting dressed. On the weekends, I get her right away, but bring her into my bed to watch Sesame Street for 30-45 minutes Chat Icon

Same here with dd. She is attempting to climb out now so I try to grab her before she gets out! Maybe 10 mins tops before she gets bored and starts climbing or biting the crib!!
