how fast did your baby grow?

DS was born 8 lbs and at 2 months weighed 13.8 lbs.
I was totally shocked, but not too shocked since my BF could never keep up with his appetite.

He was 50% on weight and 90% on height, now he's 75% on weight and off the charts on height. Ped wasn't worried, but I kind of am it doesn't seem normal to me, I'm only 5'1

Totally normal. They change sooo much. First they get pudgy then when they're more mobile they thin out... it happens

Funniest thing.... friends of DH are tiny. SHe's under 5 ft and he's about 5'5, if that. Love them... go to see their son who's the same age as mine. He's tall and thin. Like 95% in height. DH and I were hysterical about that. He towers over DS and we're taller than them.

Babies grow at different rates - as long as they are growing and gaining at a good pace, ped isn't worried.

DS was 8lbs 2oz at birth and was 13lbs 12 oz at his 4 month appt. Ped wasn't worried about it so I'm not either.

Birth - 8 lbs, 13 ounces and 19.5 inches

2 month - 14 lbs, 3 ounces (95th%ile) and 24.5 inches (94th%ile)

4 month - 19 lbs, 1 ounce (99th%ile) and 26.5 inches (93rd %ile)

at birth ds was 5 lbs 15 oz, and 18 inches, 5th %
at 2 months he was 11lbs 4 oz ( I think 50%) and height was 95%

my Ped was thrilled with his growth since he was born so small.

Normal

Rule of thumb...double their birth weight at 6 months, triple their birth weight at 1yr (on average for this)

DS was the same way.
At birth Ds was 9lbs 14oz and 22.5 inches
at 1 year he was 30lbs
2 years he was 40lbs 38 inches.

The ped jokes that his whole life has been a growth spurt. But has never been at all worried as he is off the charts but is porportionate. I too was never able to keep up with him BF, and gave up after 4 weeks. He just wanted to eat CONSTANTLY.

People are amazed when they see DH and I because we are average height and weight and DS is built like a football player!
When my friends go to pick him up, I remind them, lift with your knees not your back, as I am pretty sure DS is made of bricks!

If you makes you feel better, my nieces and nephew were all big babies, and now are pretty much average kids (size wise) at 8,7,4.

DS was born at 8lbs 6ozs.

DH weighed himself without te baby and then with the baby recently and at 3 weeks he was weighing 10lbs 5ozs. Not sure how accurate our scale is..but I was in shock he already was at that weight.

It's pretty normal. My son was born at 6lbs and was 10 lbs by the end of first month. I am 5ft and my husband is 6'ft 2'' tall. My baby is now 19 months old and 30lbs and 34 inches. He's pretty tall for his age but has thinned out a bit

My son was born 7lbs 7oz and 21" long, at his 2 month old checkup today he was 11lbs 8oz (58th percentile) and 23.3" long (75th percentile). I am also breastfeeding.
