how do you know ~ another quick Q...

hi I feel I am not regular with AF ~ (every month seems it comes different times) since I have been off BCP last year ~ is there a way to find out exactly what my day cycle is so I can find out when I am OVing?

Quick Q on the OPK test ~ based on the information (if I read and did it correctly) I should have started testing on Tuesday of this week ~ can I start testing today ~ and the reason there are 7 is because I should be testing for this whole week?

do keep track of how many days your cycle is? That would help in at least having an idea of when you might be ovulating

you can start to use OPKs. Something like the ClearBlue Digitals (they come 7 to a pack) will help you pinpoint your day of LH surge, which indicates ovulation will occur within the next 24-48 hours I believe.

What is the range of your cycles? Mine ranged from 28 - 35 days, so I started the OPKs on CD 10, and got positive reading at CD 17.

Do you know how many days in between AF's? For example, maybe some months there are 28 days and some there are 32 days (just throwing some numbers out there)

I can figure it out ~ But when do you start counting after in ends?

OPK's!!!

My first month of tracking I used the O test everyday until I got a positive. The next cycle I used the OPK test around the same time as the prev month and I got the + , etc. So now I know I O in the beggining of the month.

The 1st day of AF is considered CD1 (Cycle Day 1)...to figure out how long your cycles are you would count that day until the 1st day of your next AF.

I used the Clearblue Easy Digital OPKs to figure out when I O'd, only because they have a little smiley face that comes up when it detects your surge. I didn't like the guesswork of interpreting the lines on the other OPKS.

I am using the test strips where you have to interpret the lines bc I went all over the place & everyone was out of the Clearblue Digital ones...I guess us LIF girls are buying them all up!!!! So far I am not finding it hard to interpret the lines....

thank you so much for all your help ~ I did purchase my first OPK test today on my lunch break ~ I will look for the Clear blue easy digital one in the future I did buy the first response ~ the one with the lines ~ I will see what happens ~ I did not realize there is so much information to take in...THANK YOU ALL for all your help!

thanks sweetie ~ I did test last night and it showed no LH surge and according to mymonthlycycles.com I should have been ovulating start Tuesday with Friday being my most fertile time ~ so we will see when I test later on...thanks ladies for all your help ~ I feel so stupid on this topic... I have learned so much in one week from all of you!

on mymonthlycycles, there is only 1 ovulation date. The dates prior to ovulation are showing that you are "fertile" -- which are good days to BD since sperm can live for a few days. The day with the darkest bunny that says "ov" is your actual estimated date of ovulation (when the egg would be released). It's good to BD before that date, and even a little after since the websites are just giving an approximation.

The OPK would only show a positive BEFORE ovulation, so since you started testing a few days late you may have missed your LH surge date indicating upcoming ovulation. That doesn't mean you can't get PG this month though.

Let's say you started testing Thursday with all negatives, it could have been that you had your surge on Tuesday, ovulated Wednesday, and that's why they are all negative now. I'm not sure though! It's our first month too so I'm definitely not an expert!

Was that your last day of AF, or your first day of AF? If it was your first day, that would put you at CD9, so yes, chances are you have not yet Ovulated.
