How do you get to work?
Curious b/c I COULD ride my bike to work, but I'm not quite sure I WANT to for safety reasons.

I am a SAM, but I still do some work PT. When I need to go to the office, I drive. It's the next town south, an 8-minute drive.

I used to take the tram to work, which I loved! But now I drive! I would love to take public transport again, so I could read a book on my way in to work, I am sick of my commute at the moment!

Walk to train station and then take a train. Although sometimes it is walk / train / bus, depending on the trains. The trains here s*ck!

but technically
i walk to my car in the driveway
drive to the train station
take the train
take the subway
then walk again

I used to drive 45 miles one way to work. Now I drive 5 miles one way. What a world of difference.

I drive....... but in the past, I have rode my bike to work.......the people I worked with thought I was nuts and couldn't afford a car...... everyone has to have an opinion

Drive....work is 24 miles one way.
If it were closer I'd consider riding my bike, especially for the exercise!

I drive unfortunately. I have looked into taking the train but LIRR sucks so bad for transportation on LI. I can get to work in the am, but there arent any trains to get me home, and I'd still be driving 20 minutes to the nearest train station.
I actually went on a job interview last week for a MUCH lower paying position that is 6 minutes from my house. I have decided that it is more important to me to reduce my carbon footprint than earn alot of money, so as soon as I find a job closer to home I'm going to resign from my job of nearly ten years.
ETS-I tried finding a rideshare on craigslist too, no luck. Long Island is a nightmare when it comes to green living.

Same here! I work just over 2 miles from my house. I considered doing that but
1) I am nervous
2) I don't want to get sweaty and wrinkled!
