how do i make my teeth whiter....
the strips are so expensive and i'm not sure i'd keep up the treatments. i'm going to call my insurance about the professional treatment via a dentist, but i bet that's a pretty penny....anyone have suggestions of a home remedy?

The strips are nothing - money wise-compared to a professional treatment.
I do the Crest White Strips once a year.
If you get the Sunday paper, they have coupons every so often for $7 off and even $10 off.
Couple that with a sale at Target or CVS and you can get them pretty inexpensive.

i use the crest white strips and love them
you can do them once a year and its a noticeable difference...my dentist even commented on how white my teeth were at my last appt

I bought Colgate Opti White toothpaste, and after using it a couple of times, I see a noticeable difference.

I have been using Crest Vivid White and I bought a toothbrush (Colgate maybe?) that has whitening cups...I've seen a noticeable difference after 1 week already!!!

Rembrandt Intense Stain works really well. I have no idea how "good" it is for you, but it does work.
ETA - It's a regular toothepaste.

the strips work pretty well. i've used the listerine dissolving ones and they're ehh..the crest ones are pretty good.
but beware..they make your teeth super sensitive (at least for me, and i have sensitive teeth to begin with.)

I was also looking for something to make mine whiter, but the problem is that I have VERY sensitive teeth and I'm afraid of doing something again. Back right before I was married I had the "Zoom" procedure done and OMG!!! I wouldn't recommend that procedure to ANYONE!!! It didn't hurt at first, but when I got home, the pain was so excruiating for me. It hurt more than anything I've ever felt before. I cried so hard for hours and hours until it settled down. You couldn't pay me to do that again. The procedure even burned my lip so bad it blistered. It was such a horrible experience.
I asked the dentist if I'd be able to do a whitening thing again and the hygenist suggested maybe trying the strips but doing it every other day might help with the sensitivity??? Not sure about that one, lol?
Anyone have any other suggestions on whitening sensitive teeth???

For the ladies with sensitive teeth...use sensodyne when you brush while you're in the process of whitening. It really does help. And whitestrips every other day helps too!

Also..if you're using strips...make sure to not have the top of the strip really touching your gums. Just moving them a teensy bit lower will help a little..

I used the Crest White strips for my wedding. Bought them on Amazon for about 30 or 40 bucks. They worked great, professional treatments are hundreds of dollars

For people with sensitive teeth, try brite smile pen. You just brush it on your teeth and it never touches your gums! It works amazingly well and you can keep it in your pocketbook. I swear by these pens!

My dentist told me the strips are worth it. He said my teeth weren't bad and they would do the trick. If they were worse, he said he would recommend professional whitening by his office. Nice to get that opinion from a guy who could have made $500 off of me.

i do the baking soda, too... just mix some with a little bit of water to make a paste, and brush with it like toothpaste,
definitely doens't taste the greatest- its not HORRIBLE, though. and then i just use mouthwash or regular toothpaste right after.
it definitely works... and baking soda is like $2 a box  can't beat that!

I heard this on the radio about a year ago and have done it several times and it makes a bit of a difference.
One strawberry and about 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda mooshed together, then applied once a week is a quick, natural whitener.
You leave on for about 5 minutes, then brush your teeth as usual.

It's not the baking soda that makes your teeth hurt- it's the peroxide.
