How accurate is Zillow.com?
I was looking up house estimates.
How accurate is zillow?
Does anyone know?

I would like to know also bc I just looked up my house and it came up with a higher value then it was just appraised for.

There was a thread about this a while ago. You have to really take the inital zesitmate and then add in the features of the home - so, if there is a new bathroom, etc. because otherwise it doesn't know that.

the only info i ever use zillow for is to look up recent home sales. that has been accurate. i'm not sure where they get their zestimates from.

Zestimates come from their proprietary software and are a starting point in determining the value of a house.
That being said - we paid $50k less for our house than what it was Zestimated at so I don't find it to be accurate.
I look at it too for recent home sales. Also, looking at my Zestimate makes me feel good!

I don't find it to be accurate. It says our house has 1 less Bedroom and 1 less bathroom than we have and it was built with these rooms (they weren't add ons).
