Homegoods Returns-no receipt
I bought a few things at homegoods back in nov of 2009 when we first moved into the house. I never ended up using them and they still have price tags and are in boxes. Do you think they'd still take them back for credit?

I know that TJ Maxx will take stuff back without a receipt and give you a store credit - I would try or call the store, it's worth a shot!

You can try. I think some things have a date embedded in the bar code, though. I tried to return something from this past fall ('11) and they said I would get $1.00 on something I paid $13 for. Another time I returned something after a year or two and had no problem. Try it !

some times if things are a few years old the skews may not even be in there computer systems any more.

I tried to return something from 2009 and they wouldn't accept it.
The price tag shows the merchandise date somewhere on it...

This, it doesn't hurt to try. Just say you got it as a house warming gift. What they don't know won't hurt them It depends on how much of a price cut they'll give you on the stuff.

If the HomeGoods sticker is on it, there are numbers at the top that tell you the date or month when they put it on the shelf as well as the price. It might be worth pennies now or they might just say it's not elligible for return. Thats quite a long time.

Have you checked their web site with the numbers shown on the tag? Or even call some local stores for inventory? Worth a shot... Good luck!
