Don't exchange with anyone. My supervisor will give me a small token gift.
I usually make cookies and bring them in the week of Christmas. That's it.

As a group, the employees all buy gifts for the partners. We don't exchange with one another. One year, the 3 women I was working with DID all exchange gifts (I did not expect it and felt like a total a$$ when they had gifts for me and I had none for them.  )
The next year when someone asked if we wanted to do a secret santa or something, I said I really didn't - not because I am a mean, Scroogey person, but Christmas in general and even just buying for my family gives me major anxiety. I didn't want to make myself even more crazy. A few days later I found out she had told the other women I "ruined her Christmas spirit."

If that ruined her Christmas spirit, she needs to get a life.
And maybe grow up.
Christmas isn't about giving shittty gifts to your coworkers.
Maybe she should look into what Christmas spirit really is.

I do not exchange with my co-workers. We chip in for a gift for some students that work for us. We also chip in for a gift for our main boss.
