I LOVE Carmines!

Our Menu is as follows:

Re: Work Holiday parties?

Not sure yet.

They do not call them holiday parties at my place of work. They have been called "annual gatherings". This way the Jehovah's Witnesses can attend. Nice right? WRONG. Last year they made the party on a Friday night so religious Jews couldn't attend. There are enough in my agency (though I am not one of them) for this to be offensive - actually ONE is enough. It is fine and dandy to be PC to accommodate one group, but not at the expense of another.

Re: Work Holiday parties?

We used to have great ones at hotels, dinner, dancing, card games and way more beer than people should consume in a day! They were so much fun and then boom, one day they just stopped!!!

Pasta Pasta in Port Jeff...A lunch during the work day. I love it; my old office used to have larger parties at night, but I'd rather be missing work time for it! Chat Icon

DH's company always has theirs at a nice restaurant in the city. In the past it's been at Jean Georges, the Four Seasons, and Olives. This year is going to be at BLT Fish I'm not very excited since I don't care for seafood.

Re: Work Holiday parties?

my company is rather large. Its usually at the Hard Rock in NYC. Its 12/6. Food is ok, but pretty much everybody is there to dance and drink. Us Media Folks love to drink. In fact there is usually chug contests, hook-ups, etc. This is after the big head honchos leave. The party really gets started after 8PM.

Re: Work Holiday parties?

ours is at the office and it is potluck. we try to do it at a fancy place in NYC but no one is willing to pay up to have it. In the state system, they are not supposed to throw you parties but you can have them if you pay for yourself.

I am having our holiday party in the Darling Harbour area. For those that watch 'Real World' it is right next to where their apartment was.

Ours is a Rock the Casbah Arabian Nights themed party in a HUGE tent. There will be lots of drinking and hopefully, lots of snogging. We have to pay for part of it, most people are going. Its black tie.

Re: Work Holiday parties?

We don't have one. Haven't in a few years. We do have a potluck with the students, so I guess that counts, but we used to go out as well.

Re: Work Holiday parties?

They haven't announced where ours is this year... Last year, it was at the Hard Rock Cafe. I think the year before, it was at Madame Tussaud's. It's usually somewhere pretty good.
