Holiday cards - do you get one from everyone you send to?
and if not, do you think it is rude?
I sent out cards to all of DH's aunts and a few cousins. we have not received even 1 from any of them.  I know it's still a week before Christmas, but I sent them out 2 weeks ago.

I usually try and keep a list of who i receive them from and not....I try an weed out some of the ones that I have not received a card from in 2 years.

I don't always get them back. If it's someone I just added to my list, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt the following year, but if I don't get a card then, they're off the list.

I don't always get cards from all that I send to! I think it is rude but then again, it doesn't surprise me

I send out holiday cards to alot of people but do not always receive any from some. I do not think it is rude. I look at it as some people are not into sending cards. I do continue to send them cards even though they do not. It is something I like doing so I do not mind.

but what if it was your aunt? or DH's aunt? I don't care if it's an acquaintance, but a close relative not sending one is kind of insulting IMO.

I understand your point completely but some of our family do not send cards but that is just them but they will call and say Merry Christmas. We do not hold them to it. We just feel that is how some people are.

lol no, and this is the thorn in DHs side- LOL he gets so upset when people from his family don't send us cards after we send them one... i'm like get over it, some people just don't do cards!

For the most part yes. We send to a few of DH's single friends and don't get one in return but I don't expect one from them. I don't' know too many guys that send cards on their own.

Yup - same here. My only exception is some of the older aunts and uncles. Some of them just do not send cards but I know they appreciate getting them so I continue to send them.

This describes me too. I know a lot of people don't send out cards, but that doesn't necessarily mean I cross them off my list.

this is how I feel also. I sent mine out early this year and got cards back from most people, even though I wasn't expecting them. I like sending out cards, so I don't mind when I don't get any in return. I always hope people don't think they have to send one if they weren't planning on it. This year, we sent out to some people that sent to my Il's, they got a picture card and we got a regular one (not pic of their kids) I really didn't think she should have sent anything back...sorry to hijack!
ANyway, I don't expect anhything and would rather people not send if they weren't originally polanning on it and not making it so obvious by sending out something different from everyone else in our family..

Alot of family/friends in Ireland don't. I am starting to weed them out. Though when they are there they talk about how much they love getting our cards. 
These are the same people who didn't RSVP to our wedding. Even though they got response cards WITH stamps on them.

I don't always receive one back. It bothers me for about a minute and then I just shrug it off, unless it's from someone really important that forgot.

Last year, I sent to just about everyone on our wedding guest list (except the stiffers) and kept track of who sent cards to us.
No card for us last year = no card to you this year, with a few exceptions.

I have weeded out some people whom I have sent to 2 years in a row with no card sent back and I know that they send out cards cause my SIL gets one( its a mutual friend) Its very rude IMO. Its not rude if they arent card senders though but these people are...

I understand that sometimes the mail gets lost so you get 2 years and on the third i stop sending until you send.
