hmmm newborns and wipes...
My mom just told me that my SIL siad you can NOT use wipes on babies until they are 1 month old. She has lots of weird rules from her Dr., so I just dismissed it- you can use sensitive wipes, right?

Of course you can use wipes on newborns..... I always used sensitive.
She might say that because in the hospital they don't use them, they use a damp rag.

I was told to not use wipes for the first week or so, I used wet paper towels in the hospital
then, when we got home from the hospital, I used sensitive wipes for a few months

I was also told not to use wipes because of the reactions a lot of newborns have to them. We were told to try cotton balls or even wet paper towels for a few days but my dr. was not completely against using the sensitive wipes. He said its your preference.

We used wet cloths while DS was in the hospital (he was in the NICU for a week) and they said it was fine to use sensitive after that.

The Ped told us to use Viva paper towels for the first 2 weeks. Then we moved on to Pampers Sensitive after that.

They gave us Pampers Sensitive to use IN the hospital- so it must be OK.

yes, no wipes for a few weeks. Only warm clothe like paper towels or a wash clothes are what I was told by hospital, ped and friends. After that I only used sensitive Pampers.

ok, our situation was different and in the hospital they did nt use wipes on the preemies. byut we were never told not to use it at home.
we used the sensitive wipes from the time she was 1 month 1 week old and she was fine.

I just read sensitive are fine. In a book it said that in the hospital you will find they use wet papertowels, so if you want to trial sensitive wipes, bring them with you.

The hospital also recommended that we use a paper towel with warm water, but I used sensitive wipes & he was fine. Just be aware of the texture and the amount of alcohol in the wipes.

We used wet Viva paper towels for probably the first 2 months-- it was easy b/c her room is right by the bathroom, so it wasn't much extra effort. We still use Sensitive wipes, b/c I like that they're unscented. She's 7 months old.

i heard that too. but i used them from the begiining with DS. I used the pampers sensitive wipes and his little tooshy is fine. He has never had a diaper rash yet either.
