Hematoma and my dr. visit today, help
Hey girls, so I just had my 6 week dr. appt. It was very scary and went much differently then planned. First of all I have been staining alot and was worried about - so it turns out they saw a very large hematoma, apparently the largest my dr. has seen in his 20 years. It appears this hematoma is taking up 3/4 of my uterus. He right away sent me over to see a high risk dr to get better measurements and rule out a molar pregnancy. Eeek.
As for the baby, we saw the sac but that is it. He said maybe I am earlier than I think so don't be overly concerned yet. However the hematoma is something to be concerned about and can cause me to miscarry. Yuck. The high risk dr. did not see the fetal pole or anything either but did confirm the large hematoma. He also said I have endometrois and an endmetreoma on my ovary (cyst but not a concern). They said it is 50/50 right as to what is going to happen. I go back in 1 week and will hopefully see the fetal pole and if not then that is bad news. If it is good news and indeed a viable pregnancy then the high risk dr. will continue to monitor this clot/hematoma. Has anyone had a hematoma this early in the game?
Please say a prayer for me - thanks girls!

Re: Hematoma and my dr. visit today, help
Thx girls. Also my dr. isn't doing bloodwork yet and I find that so weird, I am going back to see him Monday and need to ask why. Doesn't he want to see if my #'s are doubling?!!
Also I was feeling very upset at first but doing better now and much more positive! Everything may be ok :)

Re: Hematoma and my dr. visit today, help
First off many .... Second with my DD I had a hematoma in front of my uterus. They found it when I was around 6-7wks ( I was slightly spotting) well the Dr wasn't so concerned and I had to return when I was 12weeks to see how it was going and when I returned it had disappeared. They basically just told me to take it easy and no sexual intercourse until it was gone. I hope everything turns out ok!!!

Thank you! I am having mine checked next week again and they will probably monitor it alot just because it is so large. I hope everything turns out ok for me too!

I too had one early on in my pregnancy, though mine was considered to be very small. They found it at 7 weeks, was still there at 9 weeks, but by 12 weeks they couldn't see it anymore so it was assumed it was absorbed on its own. Hope everything works out for you too.

Bumping for Monday peeps. Still looking for more feedback. I did alot of reading and found they ARE pretty common. However my doctors seems so grim and are worried about it growing and interfering with the baby. I swear they really know how to scare you

Re: Hematoma and my dr. visit today, help
I had a sub-chorionic hematoma with both my DD and this current pregnancy (I am 36 weeks)
Neither of them were very large, but my first one caused me to bleed quite a bit (red) causing me some ER vists...This time, I had one big bleeding incident and none since...SCH's either get reabsorbed by the body or can bleed out, which both of mine did...It was very scary but fortunately both my DD and current pregnancy have been uneventful since...
I was on modified bedrest...Best of luck to you

I have no experience with this, but I dont think they are trying to scare you. They will always give the worst case scenario so you know there is a chance of something going wrong.
My doctors never took blood to check my numbers, with three pregnancies. It is not routine for all doctors. So I wouldnt worry about that, but I believe you can request it if you want it.
This must be very scary for you! Lots of prayers!
