South Bellmore is the South side of Linden Ave about 5 blocks north of sunrise highway.
also S. Bellmore shares the middle school with N. Bellmore

Like others said I grew up in south Merrick and went to Kennedy and did my own thing. I had nice clothes but def not like some others had and stI'll had my friends. Sure there were jappy obnoxious kids who drove nicer cars than my parents but you will find that anywHere. It's a good school district.

I grew up in Merrick and went to Kennedy. There are pros and cons like everything else in life. Kennedy is a great school and very focused on academics. There is definite pressure to do well and it's competitive, but I think that's why the graduation rate is so high and so many students go on to such great colleges. Huge motivating factor for sure.
There were negatives as well. There were the kids with money whose parents indulged them. You can find that in many places on LI though. I don't think you need to worry about keeping up with the Jones'. Do what's right for your family and it all falls into place.
I can't speak about Mepham because I'm not familiar with it but Calhoun is also a very good school.
