Re: Hear ye, Hear Ye - guess what?
Congratulation!!!! Maybe you can put on the blog a great sale item of the date or week.. Also I would love to find a place that help decorate regular apartment (not loft style). We rent and I soo need ideas fixing the place but I cant find good inspiration. GL

Re: Hear ye, Hear Ye - guess what?
DIY videos would be great...especially for 'simple' projects.
A database of actual rooms painted with specific colors (e.g. BM Adagio, etc.)...so we can see an example of how the color looks painted in a room.
I'm so excited for your guys...good luck!

Re: Hear ye, Hear Ye - guess what?
Congratulations! Cannot wait to read..you guys have such good ideas...maybe you could feature home styles that are not typically covered on design shows, etc...I feel like you see a lot of colonials, traditional homes and homes where a LOT of structure has been changed/new construction..I am in a split level and don't find a lot of ideas that work for our home..I know there are a TON of splits on LI...anyway, that would be awesome and you guys are awesome for doing something about your passion-how about intro. rates for LIFers?! J/k....congrats, again!

Could you give us some examples of what doesn't work for you in your Split level? You are right, a lot of shows focus on different kinds of houses and not that much on Splits.

Re: Hear ye, Hear Ye - guess what?
everyone pretty much covered my thoughts....just wanted to say good luck and we can't wait to hear/read all about it!
when you guys are closer to lauching, you might want to do a focus group to get more layout ideas and concepts. i find that very helpful at my job....and i'm sure a few of us would meet for a chat over cocktails!

Re: Hear ye, Hear Ye - guess what?
OMG this is so exciting. I'm a true lurker here and love both of your ideas all the time. I feel like someone's pregnant
Topics of interest to me....
*Please remember us pathetic apartment dwelllers in your blog :( we get no love from most design and decor sites
* relatedly, storage storage storage. And more storage. I live in a world of clutter and sometimes I go out for the day simply to get away from it
* CLOSET DESIGN. OMG I can't tell you how many of those "design your own closet in 3 steps" sites I've used, and they SUUCK. All of them!!!!!
*Area rugs confuse me. Traditional/Contemporary/Transitional??/ WTFluck is 'transitional'????/ Materials, the right size for the room, yaddayadda. I never know what to do so I live with bare floors :(
*A babyproofing section would be nice for the parents out there... any "less obvious" tips that could help us avoid an ER visit or two would be nice
*Shelving. This could be a blog unto itself I think How to achieve extra storage but NOT look like you're in the garage.
*Small kitchens. Bane of my existence. No wonder I never cook.
And of course the "looks for less" that everyone mentioned, I LOVE those sites and can't get enough of 'em.
Congrats ladies, I cannot WAIT until you achieve liftoff!!!!!

Basically, I find that it's hard to make my split "flow" and have I guess what could be considered a "transitional" style...there are also not many walls you can hang stuff on, if that makes sense...if you do a focus group, I am there with pictures! I don't know if I'm explaining myself well...
ETS I think I know! It's "warming the place up"

A friend of mine had a split, so I understand about the wall space. Thanks for the info.

Re: Hear ye, Hear Ye - guess what?
congrats on the new venture!
I don't know if either of you ever spent time on T H E N E S T.com (so weird tHAT WAS BLOCKED OUT) but there were a few members that made profiles into blogs, there was one for paint another for outdoor living and other topics. They took ideas (with permission) from other nesties & put them in all one place. I think so many LIF members have done amazing things in their homes, maybe you could have a "real life" section or something showcasing homes with different design styles.
Incorporating the photoshop mastery somehow would be great too.

Oh God and CURTAINS. Specifically hanging them so they don't look dumb. What length? To puddle or not to puddle? and the freakin hardware. Do I sound home-challenged
Also I'd appreciate an answer to my my most burning home question... Topic: Throw Pillows Question: WHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH WOULD ANYONE SPEND $150 or MORE on a 12x12 piece of fabric with cotton or foam inside??? WHY?? The whole throw pillow industry is a scam imho.

Me & Melissa will get right on that one and interview the "Pillow Industry" and ask them their take on this.
And I would never ever spend $150 on a pillow I don't use, heck I would never spend that much even if I could put my head on it.
