Has anyone flown in a plane like this?

It a 30 seater with little propellers. I have to fly in one tomorrow to and from Boston. I am a little nervous. I thought it would be bigger.

Have fun. I did that once and it did not help my fear of flying. I sweat the entire flight.

Re: Has anyone flown in a plane like this?

Yes, from Naples to Sicily, it was terrifying, I am sorry to say.

BUT, it wasn't the flight, it was the cliff in Sicily that you look like you are going to crash into when landing!!!!!!!

I have a friend who made the NY to Boston flight all the time, she said it was fine. It's the shuttle, right?

Re: Has anyone flown in a plane like this?

Yes...I'll be honest, it's not as comfortable as a larger plane (obviously) and it is much louder (again, obviously)...and the fact that the seat cushions turn into your life preserver, freaked me out at first...and the fume smell bothers me.

That said, it's not so bad and it's usually a super quick flight. Turn our iPod on, bring a mindless magazine - anything that will take your mind off of it. You'll be fine...Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone flown in a plane like this?

I have and it was fine - an uneventful flight. It was a little bumpier than usual, but nothing that got me scared.

It was a little unnerving when they made a few people switch seats before we took off, though, to re-distribute the weight on the plane.

I have, and it was no big deal. A little bumpier than a normal plane ride would be.

Re: Has anyone flown in a plane like this?

I have many, many times. In college, I had to take these between NC and NY all the time. They're small and a tiny bit claustrophobic, but really not that bad.

I have btw Rochester and NYC a few times - it's a little bumper than normal flights, but you'll be fine. I was comfortable and able to relax, but I'm used to flying.

thanks everyone! Chat Icon
I needed to hear what it was like.

I am scared but like flying at the same time. I hope I just make it home alive on Friday! I think it is a very short flight.

Re: Has anyone flown in a plane like this?

I have actually flown in a plane smaller then that, it sat 14 from DC to here. They actually had us shift seats to balance the weight. It was ODD and I was a bit worried at first too, but it was fine. It is a quick flight and will be over before you know it. Oh and one other thing, it is loud.

Re: Has anyone flown in a plane like this?

It will be fine!!!! Just tune out the noise. Please...once I was in Colorado in a storm for a conference and the Boeing people (they were there) told me (of course they did) how dangerous and awful Airbus is...that's what I was flying home. LOL.

They are loud but work just the same as the big guys. I took one from Miami to Grand Bahama a few years ago. Stick your ipod in your ears and try to tune out the propellers.

Safe Flight!!

I've been on them a lot. I agree - more turbulence than usual but fine otherwise.
