Hard to read OPKs

So I bought the CVS OPK 7 pack. They are not digital, but not the little strips either. Yesterday the test line was definitely way lighter than the control line, but today they were really close in color.

The test line was lighter (I had DH confirm it), but only by a tiny bit, so it was really hard to tell. That is still a negative, right?

I used to strips last month and the negative was way lighter than the positive so it was easy to tell the difference. This one its way harder to tell.

Does it mean anything that the line is darker than it was yesterday, even though it wasn't positive (i think!!)

From what I have read, as long as the test line is lighter than the control, it is a negative. Also I read that the darkness of the test line can change from day to day and it not mean anything (although for me it got darker right before a +). I switched to digitals because it was too confusing. I know they're more xpensive, but I would rather just know.

I would say that if it's not just AS dark or darker than the control line, that it's a negative, sorry!

Also, do not go by how darker or lighter the line is day by day if it's negative. It will definitely fluctuate. You only care if it's positive or if its negative.
