Grrrrrrr........long vent...
I swear the woman is going to ruin it!!!
This Sunday is Jared's party/Dh's surprise party. My MIL calls me this past Sunday night at 10:30 to ask me if I can invite MORE people to the party. Meanwhile my Dh is sitting on the couch talking to his cousin. I told her to hold on while I got the phone in the other room and locked myself in the bathroom.
Well, I put my foot down. I told her no, that I can't invite anymore people. I love how this woman wants to invite more people at my expense! PLUS, these women that she wants to invite, came to my baby shower without RSVPing and brought their children! I said how do they know about the party anyway? She says that everyone was talking about it and how it's going to be so much fun. I then told her that her family shouldn't be talking about it to other people because they don't know who I did or didn't invite.
If these women were SOOO interested in attending a party for my son....they should have picked up the phone a year ago when he was born.
Anyway, my Dh asks me what his mother wanted on the phone and I had to make up some lie...
If he knows...then I know who to blame...

Damnnnnnn I would be mad as hell too. I think you should talk to DH after the party about this so he can talk to his mom. That is mega rude!!!!! Why would these people want to go to the party anyway??? Do they even care about Jared???
I personally wouldnt want to go to my friends sons party but thats just me!

I think you completely did the right thing. SHE is not throwing the party....You are. AND - if these women soooo want to be invited to the party and never even called when Jared was born - then I don't think so.
