Growing up in the 80's. Did you put posters
on your walls? If so who were they of? Actors? Rock bands?
I was a nut with magazines. I had them all- Tiger Beat, Bop, Bip Bopper etc.
I loved River Pheonix, Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Kirk Cameron and Sean Austin. lol
Then in the late 80's they came down and NKOTB went up.
My walls were always covered with someone.

I wasn't allowed to put them up on my walls, but my closet was filled with magazine posters. Most were NKOTB, then I grew out of the posters.

It's funny you say that b/c I was allowed. My walls were covered. When I had NKOTB up there wasn't an inch of paint showing. I even covered my ceiling.  My room was pretty small though.
Now, if my DD ever gets into that (she is 9 but so far not into it yet) I am pretty sure I'd say no. I'd probably tell her to cover her closet like you were told. That would be hypercritical of me in a sense, but I don't want her walls covered just like your parents didn't.

Oh yes. I loved Ralph Macchio with all my heart and with every inch of my wall space. I also devoted some space to all the hotties from The Outsiders.

i was 1-9 in the 80's so only posters i had was kiddie crap. 90 & 91 is when i started to have more interesting stuff.

Me too ! I had cat stuff everywhere, even my bedspread had cats on it !! My walls were covered with New Kids posters....then Johnny Depp & Christian Slater.

my walls were COVERED with posters/pictures etc.
I was big into metal, so i had Zeppelin, AC/DC, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest etc.. everywhere
not an inch was free. I loved it!
My mom made me help her paint the room over when i went to college though and the walls were pretty beat up from it
