green tea - any effect while TTC?

I thought I read something about this today on one of the posts but im not sure.....
I take green tea supplements and I drink grean tea about 3-4 times a week,,, can this work against me????

here is from the post earlier in the day :

THere is an enzyme in green tea that blocks the absorption of folic acid in the body which is critical in the first 12 weeks of fetal development. Folic Acid is what helps to prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida.

You can always ask you practitioner how they feel about it.


I stopped drinking green tea because of this.


green tea supplements + drinking may be excessive during TTC.

Im confused because I read that drinking the green tea while TTC actually helps with your CM?

I heard the same thing about Green Tea blocking Folic Acid.....be careful and ask your dr.
