GRAB BAG-SAYVILLE/OAKDALE HOLIDAY GTG (I am going to pick from a hat tommorrow)
Ok, I am at the point where I think I would like to distribute names for the grab bag. AT first I was going to suggest that we just buy a gift and the children randomly pick out gifts but then I remembered the age factor.
SO....what I am thinking...I think I am confident I know who is friends with who and who knows who...
I would like match people up but do it based on not knowing who the other one is. At least it would start some future conversations in people that dont know one another. So what do you think..???
Then when we are at gymboree we can throw the gifts in a sack with the childs name written on the gift and distribute them as they are called out...Good? Or any other ideas are welcome!

I like the targeted grab bag idea. We do that for our PT Cruiser club. That way, I can get something specific for my giftee. Even if I don't know them too well, as long as they have enough posts here, I can figure out what they would like.

Can it be a secret santa type instead? Where the names are distributed but no names are told to the other person? I like it when I don't know who is getting the other person the gift until after.

Also, maybe we can say who we know personally and do not want to get because maybe we would get for them anyway, or whatever the case.
For example, I wouldn't want twinboys425 because I knwo her personally, but I wouldn't mind getting something for Gilly. Even though I know you guys, it's not like I would go out and buy something for her anyway.
Does that make sense or should I shut up?

I think the 2nd way. No particular reason to pair up people in an even swap. Plus, if you pair them up like the first way, everyone will know who is getting stuff for them.

Would it be crazy to begin a list up top of childs name/age or is that too much on the computer...Only bc I dont know everyones childs names...I know some. Also, I would need to let the person know your exact childs age.
or do you guys want to research through posts and find that info...
