Gown for hospital
How many of you are planning on bringing your own gown to the hospital?

Re: Gown for hospital
nightgown/robe yes.... hospital gown no... why buy something and then mess it up? I wouldn't want to clean THAT up

Re: Gown for hospital
Well I would throw it out after. My midwife recommends bring your own... to walk around the halls and stuff.
But I could always just put a robe on over the hospital gown I guess.

Re: Gown for hospital
I wore the hospital gown the first day and then once I took a shower I put on my own pjs. I had a c-section though so I couldn't shower until the next day.

Re: Gown for hospital
I did not nor do I know anyone that did. They actually give you a 2nd gown that you put over the 1st one like a robe with the front open...well, that's what happened at my hospital anyway.
ETA...of course I brought my own pjs for after the birth, etc.

Re: Gown for hospital
I'll bring my own slippers and pj's that I don't care much about for after I can shower and am a bit cleaned up. When I'm still in labor I'll wear their gown and robe. When I took my tour last weekend there were a few girls in labor walking the halls and they all had hospital gear on and were completely covered up and looked comfortable (for a girl in labor anyway ).

Re: Gown for hospital
If you're trying to go naturally I'd definitely recommend your own gown. That way you can move around and walk the halls without worrying about your butt showing. They have some at Walmart for less than $10.

Re: Gown for hospital
I stayed in the hospital gown till after I took a shower. Then I felt more comfy in PJ pants and a tee/tank

Re: Gown for hospital
I wore their gown until I showered the next day. Things were sorta messy and uncomfortable. And at 2am it made it easy to just slip out of 1 side for feeding. I had a private room, so no need to worry about butt hanging out
By day 2 they wanted me to walk the halls (prevent clots) so I was glad I bought shorts and t-shirt...I never even thought about walking around outside of my room.

I did the same both times. I also brought a robe and put the robe on over my night gown. I delivered vaginally both times and I couldn't imagine wearing pants. I never ruined my night gowns.
