Google maps updated their satellite image of my neighborhood
Has the satellite image of your house changed? Mine did. 
The first time I saw my house on Google Maps, I thought the front yard was dirt. It was brown. The image wasn't very nice, taken during winter, and was at least five years out of date. I found out later, my front yard looked brown because I have grass that goes dormant in the winter.
Today I noticed they updated the image to one taken this summer. I can make out the arbor that we installed this year, so it's pretty recent! Although with all the trees leafed out, I can't make out everything in my neighbor's backyards.

finally. They had the old peoples old driveway for the longest time. This is now when we have it I can see my driveway lights up. Def mid summer as all the trees are full bush and I can't see my wacko neighbors either.

Yup, they just took the image pretty recently, within the past 2 months, i can tell because of the way the car is parked in the driveway!

definitely this summer bc I can tell by the park next to my house, the updates they did this summer are there. I cant tell from my house bc I cant see through the trees.

I can narrow down the days they took the satellite photos on! They took them on either September 23rd or 24th!
Mine has changed a lot!

My parents image is updated... they had the house re-sided and pavers put in the patio as well as a walkway added just this summer and it's all there.

This totally made my day! I am so happy that stupid thing was updated. I used to b**ch and complain to DH telling him to not leave any junk outside on our property because you "never know" when google maps would update our hideous house image. He swears that I am crazy for cleaning for the google people  Each time we call landscapers or contractors we tell them not to base their ideas on the google map image because it is not accurate. The driveway was dirt, there was junk on the lawn, extra trees. So innacurate. I am so psyched!

eta: I as looking at street view, not satellite. I'm pretty sure they updated the satellite image....

When I googled mapped my parents house, when I zoomed in closer, I could see my brother walking on the sidewalk next to their house going to get into his car!

The satellite image of our house is updated to show all the outside improvements we've done.
The streetview image is older, you can see my DD standing in the front yard and my fat arse half in the car getting DS out when he was an infant. I can tell by the car and what DD is wearing.

Ours was updated - they had the photo of our house during construction for the longest time (we finished three years ago) - it had the dumpster in the driveway and piles of 2x4s in the front yard.

How can you narrow it dowN? I am trying to figure this out too.
My DH was painting our deck the week before DD was baptised on 9/26. In the picture, it shows one little square that he left on the night of the 22nd, and then painted it on the 23rd. So, I believe it was taken on the 23rd. Of course all our deck furniture is on the lawn in the pic too.

They updated the image on our home, but must have been taken in spring/summer since all the trees are fully green and you can't see any neighbor or our backyards.
