Good samaritan Hospital vs. Southside for Delivery
I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding either of these hospitals in regards to maternity stay. For example, level of care, visiting hours, etc. Both hospitals are equal distance to me, and I'm not sure if one is better over the other. Any info would help!

I delivered at Good Sam. The nurses were wonderful and went out of your way for you. The only bad thing was you had to share a room and they were small. I had twins and I had to squeeze the two bassinets in there and then once company came there was really no room...I would definitely go back there. I think the care is more important than space and its only for a couple of days...I also think that next time I would only have immediate family come up and tell everyone else to visit when I came home..It was very overwhelming.

I delivered both my DC and Southside and had GREAT experiences both times. Southside's maternity unit was recently re-done and is really nice. My doctor delivers at both and recommended Southside. The nurses are great and they have buffet meals which are nice. I would take a tour of each and see which you like better.

Re: Good samaritan Hospital vs. Southside for Delivery
I LOVED Southside...at first I was disappointed my dr. no longer delivered at Good Sam, but after my experience at SS, I can't wait to deliver again.
The nurses were WONDERFUL, very knowledgeable, caring & accommodating. They have at least 10 private rooms (Good Sam, I believe has 1). You have the option of keeping your baby in your room 24/7 or in the nursery. The visiting hours were basically 12-8 & hubby can stay whenever he wants. I loved it.
Your dr delivers at both?

i was with a group that delivered at Good Sam..but i did switch out (not hospital related) that being said, i had to be admitted into L&D TWICE, and have to say, they were wonderful there (the nurses) and it was clean and comfortable..i was alittle apprehensive because you hear such crazy hospital stories from there, but it was great.. i have no info on southside..sorry.. hth!!
