LIJ Labor and Delivery Hospital Tour
DH and I went last night. It was very informative and we got to see the l&d rooms as well as the postpartum unit. Private rooms cost $450 perday.

OMG really? They were either $200 or $250 when I gave birth in November.
I requested a private room the minute I got into my L & D room and all throughout my labor and right after I gave birth but there were none left. I couldn't even get a 2 person room. The maternity ward was packed! I ended up in a 4 person room (I was alone at first, then that early a.m. they brought another mom in, then the next day another mom and the day I was leaving another one). Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. My main concern was sharing the bathroom and that was kept VERY clean by the cleaning crew.

I was there yesterday visiting my sister who just had a baby!! I had a private room and IMO it is SO worth it.
