Good customer service
I heard an interesting topic on the radio yesterday. . . everyone is so quick to send an email to a store/company when they receive bad service. What about when you receive service that goes above and beyond, do you send a letter for this as well?

Re: Good customer service
I don't, but when I receive them at work, I keep them in a folder in my email box. It's nice to receive appreciative emails.

Re: Good customer service
I have not sent a letter/email. But when I was in a store that had noticeably good customer service I have told their manager.
Customer Service is a BIG thing for me. I have walked out or (my self) banned a store as a result of bad customer service.

Re: Good customer service
To answer my own question, I usually do not. But I am going to make an effort from now on. I remember working in retail when I was in HS & College getting word from a manager that a customer was happy with my service always made me feel good.

Re: Good customer service
I don't usually send out an e-mail either way- to complain or to praise. But I will tell every single person I know about it and hopefully influence them to go there or avoid it.

Re: Good customer service
I have gone to a manager to let them know of exceptional customer service
i feel like most people complain, so it would be nice for both the manager and employee to hear something positive for a change

Re: Good customer service
I do feel that most people complain and those that don't praise would say it's the person doing their job right. If a person goes out of their way for me even when I'm not asking I will let the manager or send corporate an email. I'm very courteous to people in CS because I know that others can be real D-bags but I don't go out of my way to give praise if someone is nice to me. I think in CS you should be nice.

I have done my share of both. I will give praise or complain as necessary.

Re: Good customer service
I think what we consider "above and beyond" these days is really just standard "good" costomer service that should just be! It's almost like I'm surpised and grateful that I received decend customer service!

Ditto. If I feel that someone has gone out of their way for me, then I am more than happy to email or call their supervisor to let them know what an exemplary job they did. I have also let a company know when I felt that they missed my expectations by more than a mile. In that case it was corrected and they agreed....

Re: Good customer service
I've sent letters/emails for both. I think people more often than not take the time to write bad letters. It should be the other way around mroe!

Re: Good customer service
I am big on sending emails to companies concerning customer service.
For both positive and negative reasons.
The last time I had a bad experience was at Houlihan's - and there was some mystery meat in my tartar sauce. It was gray, hard, and disgusting. The waiter and the manager were great about it and handled the issue quickly. They too were totally confused as to what it was and grossed out.
I notified Houlihan's customer service, since I thought they had a right to know that particular location had some mystery meat floating around in their sauce. Imagine if they had gotten a more hysterical person who made a big deal? But in the message I GREATLY commended the manager and waiter for how they handled things, and when the District Manager contacted me, he appreciated me letting them know about how great the employees were with the incident as well.
