Going to a Wedding....buying a dress?

I'm starting to worry about this....I have a destination wedding in October in Florida and it's a wedding on the beach. The bride says it's very casual-sundresses and khakis.

Do I buy a dress now in a larger size hoping it'll fit or do a hope that I can still find summer type dresses in mid-late Sept???

Where do I look for a dress appropriate for a wedding?

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a wedding in September and I have no idea what to buy and when.

if you are going to buy something now - make sure it has a lot of stretch.

Some things I bought earlier that I planned to wear down the line don't fit...either cause I am growing to quickly - or I am carrying a certain way - it's just so hard to buy clothes that far in advance.

How far along will you be at that time?

Hmmm - at 6.5 months you will be showing quite a bit.

There are a lot of sales going on now - buy something on sale - and if it doesnt fit - then you can always get something else.

Just a helpful hint, at some of the maternity stores, they have the fake belly that you can use to try on dresses!

I went to Lord and Taylor with coupons in hand LOL and bought a regular dress in a matte jersey strech material. It was a lot less expensive than the maternity dresses I saw and actually fit better.

I have a wedding in August and was already thinking ahead. I think I was on the motherhood site and they had cheap dresses @15-20$$.

Me too, I have 2 weddings within 2 weeks of each other I'm not buying anything until the week of the wedding!!! Water weight and the heat can make huge changes. btrflygrl: why not find a store in Florida that has an online site and you can order sometime in late September, early October!
