Girls who have has successful inductions

How long did it take from the first drop of pitocin until you have birth? I know it will be different for everyone, based on your body, your baby, and your progress before starting pitocin. But I'm just trying to get a general sense of the experience of others :)

I had 2 rounds of cervadil first so that was 24 hours and then around 9 in the morning I had pitocin and had baby before 3 pm.

I never had pitocin. They inserted the cervadil around 12pm, contractions started shortly after, they broke my water around 2:30/3pm and once they inserted the folley catheter around 4:30 the contractions and pressure came on strong and my DD was born at 5:36pm. I was 2-3 cm dilated before the induction started and this was my second child.

Never got Pitocin.

Started with Cervadil at 7:10pm she was born at 6:39am

ETA: First child, and i was not dilated at all and was only starting to thin.

My water broke first around 8:30am, but I didn't into labor. They gave me Cervadil around 12:45pm, Pitocin around 5:45pm and db was born 5:30am the next morning.

So from Pitocin-->Baby - 12 hours.

Second ds.

Water broke 1230 am. They gave me pitocin at 930. I REFUSED the epidural. I gave birth at 1130 am. I had an Eli with my first and I felt very disconnected from the pushing experience.

I won't lie. Those pitocin contractions were god awful, but I'd do it that way again rather than an Epidural again.

With my first Ds my water broke, and i was only 1 cm when they started pitocin, he was born 6 and a half hours later


With my second Ds i was 3 cms dilated, they broke my water, started pitocin and he was born 3 hours later

I had cervadil first. Then got pitocin. DD was born about 8 hours later.

10 hours total. I was 2cm for 3+ weeks. I started pitocin at 9:30am and gave birth at 7:28pm. Super easy - no pain, no issues!

6.5 hours. I was already 3cm dilated and 50% effaced. I probably would have gone into labor naturally within a day or so. I was really on the fence about getting induced but everything went smoothly.

I respond super well to pitocin, first child 6 hours. Second child I was 3 cent dilated when I went in, took 5 hours! After my water broke they were oth born 20 minutes later.

Was induced and barely 1cm dialated or effaced so I thought it would take some time. Had 3 rounds of cervadil which took just over 12 hours. Started pitocin at 7 am and by 5 pm i started pushing which took about 2 1/2 hours. Got epi right when pitocin started and it was great!

Zero effacement or dilation. Exactly 12 hours from start to finish - first child.

My first was 4.5 hours with pitocin and my ob breaking my water. My second was 1 hour 45 minutes. Two very successful inductions

I went into the hospital on a Wednesday night and they inserted a balloon catheter instead of using cervical. In the morning I was 3.5-4cm and they broke my water. I had the lowest pitocin drip you can have. By 11:00 I was 5 cm and ad the epidural. I was fully dilated and started pushing around 2:30. Had the baby about 45 minutes later. So about 8-8.5 hours from pitocin.

I got pitocin about 7:00pm and DD was born at 12:59 a.m, so six hours

about 22 hours

had cervadil only, my water broke within about 4 hours and strong contractions came on, got an epi about 5 hours after cervadil, but then I slowly progressed. started cervadil 7pm on a Tuesday and was finally 10cm by 4pm Wed. Baby was delivered vaginally at 5:15pm Wed.

No pitocin

Went into labor about 5 hours after the cervadil. Then dd was born about 7 hours later.

I went in on September 11th and started certain for 12 hours overnight. Wasn't even a finger tip dilated before I went in for the induction. Pitocin started at 9am 9/12 and was steadily increased throughout the day with no progress. Dr gave me a choice for a c-section or a serial induction. I chose the serial induction. Did another 12 hours of cervadil. Checked at 9am on 9/13 with no progress. Pitocin started. 9:30am dr broke my water (took a lot of effort to get up in there since I wasn't even a little bit dilated). First contraction within 30 seconds. Contractions throughout the day and progressed fairly quickly. Pushed for 45 minutes. DS was born at 9:30pm

6 hrs start to finish. But I started contracting on my own the morning of the induction. And I was 8 days late. And this was my 3rd DC

#1- got cervadil before pictocin - from cervadil til pop out - 27 hours....

#2 - again cervadil before pictocin - cervadil til pop ot - 7 hours..... went from 3 cm to 10cm in like 45 mins and missed the epidural.
