Girls - I need prayers, my house was basically destroyed - updated Sunday night
During the storm yesterday, our roof was ripped off down to the plywood. Our attic, the bedrooms on the second floor (including James' room), our bathroom, hallway, stairwell and living room are pretty much waterlogged.
I am a mess.
My parents and DH's parents are taking James for a few days until we figure out what's going on. This is going to be a nightmare and a half to fix, especially with the potential for mold.
I can't believe this is happening.
Please don't post anything on FB (aside from what's there already - the damage we had told our friends about got worse through out the night) - my mom hates that fact that I talk about things with everyone.  
Sorry to post and run, but I have a million phone calls to make and we want to start going through things and putting stuff in bins..... I'll check in later on.

Sunday night -
Thank you everyone for the prayers, hugs, FM's and offers to help. Right now, DH and I are at a loss of what to do. We had a crew come over and put a tarp over the entire roof. The roof is still there, but it was missing all of the shingles and all of the tar paper on the ridgeline which is where all the water came in through. The water remediation people are coming tomorrow, as is the insurance adjuster. The remediation peeps said that people with standing water get priority, so I don't know where we stand with that. There is no standing water in the house, everything has run down trough the walls and onto our belongings and through the floors. By the time it reached the living room, it was just drips, but the damage is still there. We are petrified that mold will start to grow and take over. Every wall and room on one side of the house has visible damage - lord only knows what's beneath the surface. The whole house smells like paint and feet  from all of the wet plaster. It's not going to be pretty.
As far as James goes... we don't want him in the house the way it is right now. He's with my parents for now, DH's parents will be taking him Tuesday into Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon, I'll get him from my IL's and go back to my parents and commute back and forth to work from there and bring James to the sitter, like normal. I want to keep him in as much of a routine as I possibly can. Lilly is in a kennel at the vet and we'll get her tomorrow night or Tuesday morning.
DH and I will be staying in the house until Wednesday - at that point, I'll go out to Suffolk, he has to go to DC on business and my aunt and uncle that live in Merrick will be heading to Florida for 2 weeks, so we'll be moving into their house this weekend for the time that they're gone.
Is this how I imagined my spring would start off? HELL NO, but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right? We needed to do some renovations to the house anyway - this just wasn't the way we wanted to go about it. For now, we are all healthy, relatively happy and for the most part, still somewhat sane. I'll update as we go on, but thanks again for your thoughts and good wishes. Please keep them coming!

Last year the whole first floor of my house was destroyed by water....I'm so sorry you are going thru this. If there is anything you need info or otherwise please fm me. Call the insurance company. They will call someone to come and do the clean up. We used ServPro, they were great. It was a massive inconvenoence and the insurance co rented us a house and furniture and everything, but it all turned out ok in the end. At least no one was hurt!

OMG...I am so sorry!
there is no reason to hide what happened...you need to vent and talk about it. YOu need advice. What you are feeling is totally normally. Any of us would be a mess.
