Girl names that can't really be shortened...
DD1 is Brooke and I'm looking for something similar for DD2 in that it can't really be shortened.
I love the name Hannah, but DH doesn't.
He wants Olivia- I don't.
So, I'm looking for suggestions on short names that go well with Brooke.

And the ones that you can't really shorten - you can always lengthen - Brooke - Brookie (which is what my two friends named Brooke were nicknamed).

I 2nd Lauren but my DD's name is Lauren so im partial but that is exactly why we picked that name, pretty and it can't be shortened...

ITA my coworker named her daughter Lori thinking it couldn't be shortened but everyone call her "Lor" and another was Lisa and they call her "Lis (pronounced Lease)"

My girls are Amelia and Kate. I know you can shorten Amelia to Mia, but we don't. And Kate is just Kate. I don't like nicknames so thats part of the reason we chose those names.

My dog's name is actually Sophie and we always call her "Soph". See what I mean??

Good points BUT imo there is also a difference between a "nickname" and a shortening that someone uses like when they yell for you (usually people who see you constantly).
For one example- the Sophia/Soph. You might yell Soph but it would be weird to refer to someone as Soph. Another example- more common- is Brian and Bri. Your mom might yell Bri but no one would say "Bri told me..." or a teacher wouldn't say "Bri".
I think that's important to remember b/c people will shorten in ways that don't even make sense.
