Getting the "once over" after baby
I don't know if it's just because I am insecure about my body right now but, since I 've returned to work after my maternity leave, i've had so many co workers say hello to me and ask about the baby, etc... But then they check me out from head to toe.....as if to see if I am still carrying baby weight.... Which I am.... Some make comments like, your belly went down nicely, or it's coming off, etc.... I find it awkward and sort of rude... Maybe it's me?

Not at all. Unfortunately i was guilty of this before having my ds. It was teh second comment igot after bringing ds around. Keep ya head up. It took you 9 months to get tht way, and it should take just as long to go back to "normal"

I think it's just normal for them to do that. I went back today and I felt the same way. It was oh welcome back then they look down and say oh you look this or that and I just say what I don't have my big ole belly! I'm guessing I was bigger than I thought when I was working and that's all they remember. Hey you grew a baby it took 9 months who cares what they think or say.

Anything other than "you look great" is rude IMO

don't take this the wrong way, but I also think people just make comments to make you feel better about yourself whether or not your body reflects it. So, maybe they aren't checking you out as much as you think. They are trying to hand you a nice compliment to make you feel better!

Yeah, I agree. I am just so uncomfortable in my own skin right now because I am the heaviest I have ever been. Another woman I work with also had a baby around the same time as me, and she is back to her old self and I am looking like Jabba the Hut. I just set up an appt with a nutritionist, and that's already making me feel better!
