Getting CLOSE!!!!!!!!!
Good lord I'm getting close!!!
We had a midwife appointment this morning, Everythign is measuring and looking perfect!!! My midwife is really happy with how I'm doing so that's exciting!!!
I just ordered all the birth supplies ans herbs that we need for the homebirth!
I ordered the birthign tub which is going to be arriving in 2 weeks!!!
Next week the midwife comes and does our home visit to look at the house and see our set-up etc!! I still have MAJOR cleaning to do 
We have a pediatrician appointment on Thursday, I have rave reviews for her so hopefully all will go well!!
I am finishing up my homebirth and transfer/Hospital birth plans to be emailed to my midwife later this week!!
I got my list of stuff to start doing to help have an "active role" in starting labor, starting at 37 weeks!!

Nursery is started. Crib is set-up and dresser. Will start washing clothes in a weeks or so. Still waiting for curtains, chandelier, my dad is finishing her closet and the bookshelf should be arriving soon as well!!!

You are delivering at home?!??! Just curious but what happens if there is a problem and you need a c-section? Would you just go to the hospital?

Yup, I'm delivering at home. If for some reason I need a c-section or other MAJOR medical inervention I would be transferred to a hospital which is 5 min from my house.....
My midwifes transfer rate is extremely low adn usually the main reason for a trasfer is for a woman who has been laboring VERY VERY long and may need the use of an epidural or other medical intervention to rest...

Ha Ha .... you THINK i'm organized but My midwife was like......"You need to get started on this stufff ASAP" so I came home right after teh appointment and did it all....
THe nesting started this weekend, it's CRAZY... I can't sit still but I'm commpletely exhausted
I answered about the primrose oil above!

Interesting. How much do you take??? I think I might even have some in the house-- I thought it was also maybe good for digestive issues.
My midwife said a few gel capsules orally every day adn you can insert 1 vaginally as well.....
Not sure about the digestive issue remedy..interesting I'll have to look that up!!!

Nah.... I'm too much of a wimp and scared of needles to have an IV or Epi.... I give women who deliver in a hospital and can't walk around freely and eat and drink when they want A LOT of credit, to me that would be horrendous!!!
One of my reasosn for a homebirth is because I'm to scared of teh above mentioned and medical interventions!!! But, to each their own!

i'm jealous. i would love to do that but considering our tiny rented one bedroom apartment in a big apartment building doesn't really FEEL like home (or have enough room for anything) a "home" birth is sorta out for me...
good for you though - you must be so excited!

A local CPM is renting me an "Aqua doola" with a heater. Supposedly it is large enough for me and DH can get in as well because I hope to deliver in the water and have DH catch her

I've heard nothing but good things about the Aquadoula, and having the heater will be a lifesaver! No worrying about adjusting the temperature.

Yeah, when DH and I were interviewing practitioners that was his number 1 priority, he wants to catch the baby!!! My midwife group is all for it and highly reccomends to teh dads that they do it!!
I'm excited abotu the tub because I know the water has to be a certain temp to deliver and this gives us the best chance for delivering in water!!!
Hot showers have been my lifesaver lately with my back ans braxton hicks so I really think it's going to help me during labor!!!

There are 4 herbs, I can give you the exact names if you want that are boiled with distilled water and then cooled and they soak pads with the mixture and freeze them. It suppose to help with post-partum healing of the vagina and be soothing!

Could you please give us the names? I remember how uncomfy I was the last time- I would love to have this prepped and ready to go this time.
